It’s the Middle of July – What Are You Reading? (66)

Holly: I can’t believe how fast this month is going. Thankfully, my reading mojo seems to have returned. I’ve read a number of books the last few days. Today I finished Seduced by Her Highland Warrior by Michelle Willingham. I enjoyed parts of it, but it was kind of a sad, depressing read. Not bad, necessarily, just not very uplifting. I started The Seduction of Scandal by Cathy Maxwell. I’m only a few pages in. So far the story is very engaging.

Over the course of this past week I read Catch Me by Lorelie Brown, More Than Words, an anthology featuring stories by Jill Shalvis, Carly Phillps and Donna Hill, Second Chance at the Sugar Shack by Candis Terry and Serendipity by Carly Phillips. I really loved Serendipity and Second Chance at the Sugar Shack. Both were excellent reads. I also really enjoyed Catch Me. It was a Western, something I don’t read a lot of, but I’d highly recommend it.

Rowena: It’s been a busy reading week for me (well not nearly as busy as Holly’s) as I’ve read Overbite by Meg Cabot, A Night to Surrender by Tessa Dare, Populazzi by Elise Allen, Wildefire by Kierstan Knight and I just finished reading Linnette, the Lioness by Lavinia Kent. I DNF’d a book this week too but it was a book for my other blog, The Book Scoop, that book was Dreams of Significant Girls by Cristina Garcia. It was too slow for my mood and I kept putting it down so I gave up after three days. I think I’m going to pick up Alissa Johnson’s Nearly a Lady.

What are you reading?

I’m just starting the last story in The Other Side. Am amazed I haven’t heard more buzz about Patricia Gaffney’s return to historical romance in this one! Also reading The Last Waltz by Mary Balogh. — willaful

I’m reading Wild Montana Sky by Debra Holland on my nook and The Iron Duke in print (OMG!). I just finished Courtney Milan’s Unlocked.

  3. I’m currently reading the last of the Bitterbynde trilogy by Cecilia Dart-Thornton and March Upcountry by David Weber.

The first one is taking me a long time as the book is physically heavy and it’s easier to read the second on my Sony Touch 😀

  4. I just finished two Sandy Sullivan cowboy romances: Montana Cowboys series; now I am beginning on The Devil At Midnight by Emma Holly and a Patricia Rice novel. Got some free reads from a few publishers I want to read as well. I’m still trying to figure out my KOBO reader–not as user friendly as I had hoped. My hubby got it for me when our local Borders Bookstore was closing. Happy reading to you all.
