Rowena: This week was a pretty good reading week for me. I got in a bunch of different reads of the young adult variety since that seems to be what I’m in the mood for. It must be the summer season coming up. Right now, I’m finishing up Chasing Fire by Nora Roberts and after will be starting Too Wicked To Love by Debra Mullins and What Happened to Goodbye by Sarah Dessen.
Holly: I’m still in a strange reading funk. If I pick up a book and start it I seem to finish it, but nothing sounds good. I did read Lord Ruin by Carolyn Jewel last week. I absolutely adored it. The heroine started to annoy me toward the end, but overall I thought it was a really well done novel. I was excited to start the next book in the series..only to be told there is no next book. Unfortunately it hasn’t been written yet. Hopefully soon.
I also read Baby, Come Home by Stephanie Bond. It’s the second book in her upcoming Southern Roads series. While I loved the first book, Baby, Drive South, this book didn’t work for me at all. I wanted to drop kick the heroine off a very high bridge. I’m still looking forward to the third book, though.
Casee: I’m in some sort of funk as well. Instead of continuing with paranormal, I decided to go back to romantic suspense which is usually my favorite genre. I read When You Dare by Lori Foster. I had problems with it, but I generally enjoy Lori Foster. I’m now reading Inside by Brenda Novak. I just started it, but so far it’s good.
What are you reading?
Very slow reading week for me. Read Just like Love – my first Julie James and am now in the first chapter of Pamela Clare’s Breaking Point
I’ve been having trouble reading, too. I did get some short stories read: Mating Season by Persephone Jones, Tempting Adam by Jill James, and Pleasure with Purpose by Lisa Renee Jones.
I just started “The Hazards of Hunting a Duke” by Julia Quinn. It was one of my thrift store finds this week. It’s pretty good so far.
Just finished The Taking by Erin McCarthy, which was very good, though not quite as powerful as My Immortal, for me. Also reading Dangerous Passion by Lisa Marie Rice, but taking a category break with an HP for a while, because it’s kind of similar in tone/relationship to The Taking and I don’t want to get them all mixed up. — willaful
I just finished the Essex sisters quartet by Eloisa James. Somehow, I never read JQ’s Mr Cavendish, I Presume, so that is what I’ve moved onto next.
I’m ploughing my way through The Land of Painted Caves by Jean M Auel.
