Casee: Only five days until I am the big 3-0. That’s never been a big deal for me, most likely because I’ve always felt far older than that (H: It’s true..she’s like a little old lady already). I suppose I felt like my twenties were my thirties. Either way, I’m going to celebrate, countdown, remind everyone, etc.
I’m definitely picking back up in the reading department. I’ve been reading some great books this week. I read Storm Kissed by Jessica Andersen. I didn’t expect to like it as much as I did because I didn’t really know the characters, but it was amazing. Now I’m reading The Darkest Secret by Gena Showalter. I love the Lords of the Underworld. These books can’t come out fast enough for me. I might be getting more reading in (shocking, I know) if it wasn’t for the book I’ve been forced to read the most this week. That book is Psychology Core Concepts. It has the potential to be interesting, but I haven’t gotten there yet.
Holly: My reading is way down this month. I just can’t seem to concentrate. I re-read Honor’s Splendour by Julie Garwood this week and it took me 3 days. It’s never taken me 3 days to re-read a Garwood novel before. I blame my kids. They’re bent on driving me insane this week.
Beyond that, I’ve only read two other books this month. Delaney’s Shadow by Ingrid Weaver (which I enjoyed) and Storm’s Heart by Thea Harrison. I’ve been dying for Storm’s Heart since I finished Dragon Bound. It was an excellent read. I didn’t love it as obsessively as the first, but it was very enjoyable.
I think I’m going to start Silk is for Seduction by Loretta Chase.
What Are You Reading?
Casee: YAY for your birthday. I kind of feel older than I am (27 and a half), but everyone tells me I look younger, because I dress like a teenager and never wear make up 😛
LOL
Still Happy Birthday to you! or, as we say in my neck of the woods: Feliz Cumpleaños!!
Holly: Your tweets made me want to read Honor Splendour now! I bumped it up, and I think I’ll be reviewing it next week for retro friday
I’ve been luckier than you guys – just from a reading stand point! No young kids and I went away for a week where I didn’t have internet or TV, so I’ve gotten a lot of reading done: Rock Bottom by Erin Brockovich with CJ Lyons, Deadly Intent and Deadly Dreams by Kylie Brant, Indulgence in Death by JD Robb, Chasing Shadows by CJ Lyons, The Welcome Home Garden Club by Lori Wilde, Loose Ends by Tara Janzen, So Close The Hand of Death by JT Ellison, and Sounds To Die By by Nikki Duncan. I’m getting ready to read No Turning Back by Deanna Jewell.
Hope you have a wonderful birthday, Casee
Currently I am reading Suzanne Enoch’s “A Lady’s Guide to Improper Behavior”. I am truly enjoying it. I had been pushing it back because, well, I have to admit Suzanne Enoch has been a “hit or miss” type of author for me, though I think I’ve liked most of her work that I’ve read to date.
Happy birthday, Casee! And if you get depressed about getting older, just consider the alternative. 🙂
Reading Dark Moon by Lori Handleland. — willaful
Happy Bday. Hope you have a fun day.
Am reading Driftwood Cottage by Sherryl Woods – really liking it.
I just finished reading A Discovery of Witches, very very good. Like the heart pounding whats-gonna-happen-next good. Tho, major cliff hanger at the end and unfortunately it just came out in Feb so we have to wait a year for next installment.
