Holly: February was a good reading month for me numbers-wise, but I didn’t read many new books. Things have been crazy here so I’ve been re-reading more than anything else.

As you can see, I binge-read Briggs and Singh. I was in the mood for UF and they fit the bill. The only two new books I read were Before I Fall by Jessica Scott and Fire Bound by Christine Feehan. I enjoyed both, though the Scott shredded me. She always gets me in the feels. I didn’t really have a least favorite this month, since pretty much all my reads were re-reads.
Rowena: February was a good reading month for me. I started the month off with some great reading but ended the month with three books that I wanted to like more than I actually did.
- Unraveled (Woodlands #3) by Jen Frederick | 4 out of 5
- Unrequited (Woodlands #4) by Jen Frederick | 4 out of 5
- Hunting Ground (Alpha & Omega #2) by Patricia Briggs | 4.25 out of 5
- Fair Game (Alpha & Omega #3) by Patricia Briggs | 4.25 out of 5
- I Wish You Were Mine (Oxford #2) by Lauren Layne | 4.25 out of 5
- Blurred Lines by Lauren Layne | 3.5 out of 5
- Nowhere But Here (Thunder Road #1) by Katie McGarry | 4 out of 5
- Walk the Edge (Thunder Road #2) by Katie McGarry | 3 out of 5
- Sweet Seduction by Daire St. Denis | 2 out of 5
- Fully Ignited (Boston Fire #3) by Shannon Stacey | 3.5 out of 5
- The CEO’s Unexpected Child by Andrea Laurence | 2 out of 5
- The Forbidden Temptation by Anne Mather | 1 out of 5
My favorite read of the month is probably a tie between Hunting Ground by Patricia Briggs and I Wish You Were Mine by Lauren Layne. Both books were great and I’m anxious to get some more books by those authors read. Dead Heat is the next book in the Alpha & Omega series and it’s Holly’s favorite book in the series so I’m looking forward to reading that this month and I’m super anxious for Lincoln’s book, which is the next book in the Oxford series by Lauren Layne. So much to look forward to!
My least favorite read of the month is The Forbidden Temptation by Anne Mather. The book dragged and dragged for such a short book. It didn’t really do a thing for me so I was glad to be done with that one but it’s been days since I finished it and I haven’t been able to read anything else. I hope it didn’t break my reading mojo.
This month we’re giving away:
I Wish You Were Mine by Lauren Layne
Any book from Holly’s list (I’m not going to choose one since I mostly re-read). Digital only.
If you want to be entered to win, leave a comment on this post telling us what your favorite – and least favorite – reads of the month were. Also, be sure to tell us what book you’re interested in winning. You can put your name in for more than one book, but you’ll only be allowed to win one, so choose wisely.

February was a slow reading month for me. The books I most enjoyed were all mystery/suspense: The Ex by Alafair Burke, Angels Burning by Tawni O’Dell and Lost & Found by Allison Brennan and Laura Griffin. To be fair, my least favorite was also a mystery–Lisa Jackson’s After She’s Gone. I’m just not clicking with her books anymore. I think that one may be my last from her. If I win, I’d like to choose a digital book from Holly’s list of Patricia Briggs novels. Thanks for the giveaway.
Hmm, favorites from February (how alliterative!) include: C. S. Pacat’s Captive PrinceTrilogy; Off the Clock: A Pleasure Principle novel by Roni Loren; Act Like It by Lucy Parker; The Score (Off-Campus Book 3) by Elle Kennedy; as well as re-reads of Patricia Briggs’ Moon Called and Michele Diener’s science fiction romance Dark Horse.
Least favorite is always tough as I typically put aside books that aren’t grabbing me. I’ll not name any names this month.
My favorites in February were Autumn Moon, a PNR by Jan De Lima, and In the Company of Wolves by Paige Tyler. Both featured strong heroines, so that’s probably why I liked them. Least favorite, hands down, was The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt which I had to read for my book club. What a slog – it was 780 pages and I made it to p. 500 before I finally gave up and skipped to the final chapter (80 pages long!) to finish up. I know the book won a Pulitzer Prize, but I just thought it was overwrought, and desperately needed a good editor.
It’s so unlike me, but I don’t think I finished a book in February. I started several, but I was so busy and exhausted by the time I went to bed, I fell asleep instead of reading. First time in ages it happened.
Denise
My favorite books of the month were Happily Ever Ninja by Penny Reid and Some Sort of Love by Melanie Harlow. My least favorite was Reckless by Kimberly Kincaid.
I finally finished reading the Martian, and I’m gearing up to finish A Dance with Dragons.
