Well another week has gone by and here we are again. 🙂 It looks like it’s going to be a beautiful day here in So Cal. The heat last week was unbearable so I’m hoping it stays in the 70’s today. Hey, I’d even take the low 80’s at this point! lol
This weekend was pretty cool. I attended the wedding of my boss and her partner and it was beautiful. They’re just so cute together! 🙂 My oldest daughter, sap that she is, was bawling during the ceremony cuz she thought it was so sweet, which it was. 🙂 Not only is my boss her priest but her partner is the bell conductor for the bell choir that my girls are in so she has a pretty strong attachment to both women.
Anyway, on to what I read last week:
I started off the week with Shield of Winter by Nalini Singh. Holy guacamole this was a good book. This is Vasic’s romance which I’ve been waiting forever for! I’ve really liked him since the first moment he came on page so it was wonderful reading about his romance with Ivy – an Psy of E designation. The story that throws them together is incredible and I definitely recommend reading it. 5 out of 5
Whisper to Me by Christina Lee is book 3 in the Between Breaths series. This was a fab installment that put Rachel – a girl we thought we knew up until now – and Kai, a childhood friend, together. It was an incredible friends to lovers story and is not one you’ll want to miss. 4.5 out of 5
One Hot Scot by Suzanne Enoch is a novella in the Scandalous Highlanders series. This story is about a woman who is kidnapped and manages to escape. She ends up with, you guessed it, one hot Scot and he helps her with her kidnapper. The story was adorable as well as oh so sexy and I really enjoyed it. 4 out of 5
Dreams of Wolf by Miranda Stowe is a story about a woman who is a nanny. She saves her charges (or she thinks she saves them) from a large wolf one day. The wolf ends up following the woman and crawling in to bed with her. She thinks she’s having nightly dreams about this wonderful werewolf man but it’s all real. Needless to say she’s a bit freaked out when she finds out it’s real as well as the fact that he’s really a shapeshifter. The story was cute and definitely hot. The first part of the story told about his mother and included a sex scene and I didn’t care for that part at all. I’m sure it was supposed to be titillating but I didn’t find it to be at all. 3 out of 5
Next up was Score by Gina Watson. This novella involves Chloe who wakes up in Vegas next to Caleb St. Martin. He has been the bane of her existence most of her life as they grew up neighbors and he seemed to bully her. He doesn’t see it that way but understands how she might. Now that he’s been with her he’s not willing to give her up but Chloe has quite a bit of emotional baggage to wade through before she can accept him. This was a cute story. The sex scenes were hot but Chloe annoyed the heck out of me. She was always storming off somewhere and it got old. Caleb may not have been the perfect man but I liked him a heck of a lot more than I liked Chloe. There were some parts of the story that were very touching as it had to do with a friend and his battle with ALS and I really enjoyed those portions of the book. 3 out of 5
Last for the week was The Wedding Secret by Jeannie Moon. This story is about a couple who ends up having sex at the man’s sister’s wedding. It turns into a secret baby story and has many ups and downs. I’ll post my review for this one this week. 3 out of 5

Happy Reading!
guess I need to check out the novella…somehow I missed it. Loved the color scheme of the wedding…they look very cute together.
SidneyKay – Do you mean the Enoch novella? I had no idea it was out until I was perusing Amazon, which is rare! Love her books.
Don't they look sweet? They both love purple so it worked out well. 🙂
