It’s a new month so we’re back with a list of our Monthly Reads to share with each of you. This is where you’ll see what each of us has read and what our favorite books and our least favorite books of the month are. Check it out.

I read some books in June, but not as many as I was hoping for.

Ashes (Dark in You #3) by Suzanne Wright | 4 out of 5
Embers (Dark in You #4) by Suzanne Wright | 4.25 out of 5
Shadows (Dark in You #5) by Suzanne Wright | 4 out of 5
Omens (Dark in You #6) by Suzanne Wright | 4.5 out of 5
Fallen (Dark in You #7) by Suzanne Wright | 4.25 out of 5
Reaper (Dark in You #8) by Suzanne Wright | 4 out of 5
Love Me Today (Time River #1) by A.L. Jackson | 3 out of 5
Liars Like Us (Morally Gray #1) by J.T. Geissinger | 3.5 out of 5
Sweet Regret by K. Bromberg | 3.75 out of 5
Burn (Dark in You #1)(reread) by Suzanne Wright | 4.5 out of 5
The Price Scandal (Bluewater Billionaires #1) by Lucy Score | 4.25 out of 5
A Taste for a Mate (Redwood Pack #1) by Carrie Ann Ryan | DNF

After glomming Suzanne Wright for the last few months, I had a somewhat difficult time getting into another book. I haven’t been listening to audiobooks at all which needs to change asap. I think Omens (Dark in You #6) was my favorite book of the month. I loved both Khloe and Keenan. My least favorite was probably Love Me Today (Time River #1) by A.L. Jackson. It kills me to even type that because I love A.L. Jackson. That book just didn’t do it for me. The Carrie Ann Ryan wasn’t good, but I didn’t have any expectations when I was reading it. Not so for the A.L. Jackson.

I did a lot of re-reading in June, but I also read some new-to-me books that I really enjoyed.

Strictly Business (The Salinger Brothers #1) by Carrie Elks (audio) | 4 out of 5
Hunt the Stars (Starlight’s Shadow #1) by Jessie Mihalik (reread) (audio) | 4 out of 5
Eclipse the Moon (Starlight’s Shadow #2) by Jessie Mihalik (reread) (audio) | 3.75 out of 5
Capture the Sun (Starlight’s Shadow #3) by Jessie Mihalik (audio) | 4 out of 5
Polaris Rising (Consortium Rebellion #1) by Jessie Mihalik (reread) (audio) | 4 out of 5
Aurora Blazing (Consortium Rebellion #2) by Jessie Mihalik (reread) (audio) | 3.75 out of 5
Chaos Reigning (Consortium Rebellion #3) by Jessie Mihalik (reread) (audio) | 4.25 out of 5
Icebreaker (Maple Hills #1) by Hannah Grace | DNF
Guardian Mate (Starhawke Rising #0.5) by Audrey Sharpe | DNF
Kiss Hard (Hard Play #4) by Nalini Singh | 4 out of 5
The Price Scandal (Bluewater Billionaires #1) by Lucy Score (audio) | 4.25 out of 5
Mr. Fixer Upper (Fixer: King Siblings #1) by Lucy Score (audio) | 3.5 out of 5
The Christmas Fix (Fixer: King Siblings #2) by Lucy Score (audio) (reread) | 4 out of 5
Magic Claims (Kate Daniels: Wilmington Years #2) by Ilona Andrews (ARC) | 4.5 out of 5
Magic Rises (Kate Daniels #6) by Ilona Andrews (audio) (reread) | 4.5 out of 5
Must Love Hockey (Brooklyn #5.5) by Sarina Bowen | 3.75 out of 5
Sarazen’s Betrayal (Sarazen Saga #3) by Isabel Worth (reread) | 3.5 out of 5

My favorite read of the month was The Price of Scandal by Lucy Score. I loved the premise and the idea of four billionaire best friend women who kick ass and take names. I also really enjoyed Strictly Business by Carrie Elks. My least favorite was Icebreaker by Hannah Grace. Both main characters were immature and the story moved very slowly.

I had a great reading month. My favorite was A Rake of His Own by AJ Lancaster. Honorable mentions to Things We Never Got Over by Lucy Score which I finally got around to reading and loved, as well as a couple of great ARCs, Hello Stranger by Katherine Center (July23), A Nobleman’s Guide to Seduction by KJ Charles (Sept23), and A Shot in the Dark by Victoria Lee (Sept23). Least favorite was The Baking Pact by Ginger Li, which wasn’t bad, just didn’t catch my interest.

I read some REALLY good books this month. Favorites were:

*To Shape a Dragon’s Breath: The First Book of Nampeshiweisit by Moniquill Blackgoose.
*Mrs. Nash’s Ashes by Sarah Adler
*The Benevolent Society of Ill-Mannered Ladies by Alison Goodman

I abandoned books that were not speaking to me so no least favorites to mention.

I read 12 books in June. My favorites were the three books in the Hockey Ever After series (WINGING IT, SCORING POSITION, UNRIVALED) by Ashlyn Kane & Morgan James. I got off to a slow start with them because I was reading them out of order and, because timelines shift and characters recur, the books really are better read in order. The stories are somewhat angsty m/m romances with gay and bi MCs (all of whom are professional hockey players) and generally with an opposites-attract vibe.

My least favorite read was Natasha Anders’s DON’T PRETEND I’M YOURS: it was so over-the-top melodramatic, and the MCs were so inconsistent, I got tired of it long before I managed to slog to the end.

I read Remember Me by Mary Balogh and Moorewood Family Rules by HelenKay Dimon. I enjoyed both books.

Remember Me is much better than the first book in this series, Remember Love. The premise in the first book was intriguing, but some of the character’s motivations didn’t work for me. In Remember Me, the family dynamic works better and there’s a nice set up for the next book in the series dealing with a heroine with a disability. I’ve never read HelenKay Dimon before, but her Moorewood Family Rules was a light-hearted book about a family of con artists.

My top 2 were Dianne Duvall’s Rogue Darkness and Grace Burrowes’ Miss Determined. I actually had a good month without any bad reads. Surprise.
