Casee: I read one book in May. One book. In my defense May was graduation month so I was super busy. Still, it’s not much an improvement over previous months. I did discover Rebecca Zanetti’s Dark Protector series, so I am a happy reader. My one and only book was the first book in that series and I really liked it.

Holly: May was a strange reading month for me. I ended up reading 19 books, but I went about 2 weeks in the middle of the month where I read nothing. I’m trying to re-read less, and I feel good about it this month. The majority of my reads were new ones.

White Lies by Linda Howard (reread) | 4 out of 5
My favorite read of the month was Burn for You by J.T. Geissinger. It’s a modern-day Beauty and the Beast retelling. I ended up reading it 3 times it was so good. My least favorite read was Rock Chick Reborn by Kristen Ashley. I was so looking forward to Shirleen’s story, but she acted so unlike herself it killed the story for me.
Rowena: My reading month sucked. I didn’t read all of the books that I planned on reading and I didn’t even have a good excuse. I had the time, I just didn’t have the desire to read. I wasn’t in the mood. Hopefully, June will be better to me on the reading front. Wish me luck!
Here’s what I did read in May.
Rumor Has It by Jessica Lemmon | 4 out of 5
Regrets Only by Erin Duffy | 3.5 out of 5
Airports, Exes, and Other Things I’m Over by Shani Petroff | 3.5 out of 5
Hooked on You by Kate Meader | 4.5 out of 5
Speakeasy by Sarina Bowen | 4.5 out of 5
Making Up by Lucy Parker | 4.25 out of 5
My favorite read of the month is a two-way tie between Hooked on You by Kate Meader and Speakeasy by Sarina Bowen. Both books were wonderful and I connected with both couples and their romance so much. I adored both Bren and Violet and Alec and May. So much goodness there.
My least favorite read of the month goes to Regrets Only by Erin Duffy. I had such high hopes and while I didn’t hate the book, the main character disappointed a bit with things I wished she was above but wasn’t.
This month we’re giving away:

I read Mary Balogh’s Someone to Care and enjoyed it. I didn’t have a least favorite this month.
Favorite was No Dukes Allowed anthology. Least favorite is hard to choose. I made my way thru the Wicked Earls novella series. Some had good stories but needed more editing. Overall I was disappointed. Which makes me sad
My favorite was The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoag. If I had to pick a least favorite, I’d say The Uncertain Season by Anna Howard Creel which was just okay.
Hmm, favorites this month were Dal MacLean’s Object of Desire, Keira Andrew’s historical male/male romance Semper Fi, a re-read of The Martian, and a re-read of Lyn Gala’s Claimings series.
My most disappointing book (that I actually finished rather than cast aside) is Thea Harrison’s Planet Dragos because I was hoping for more.
liked 20,000 leagues under the sea
worst book: Leah Marie Brown’s working it
Favorite The Closer You Come by Gena Showalter and least Vein Of Love by R. Scarlett
I had several favorites this month.
– Away, a PNR by Meg Benjamin whom I love because her characters usually act like adults and she tends to write supportive relationships.
– A Girl Like Her by Talia Hibbert, a really good interracial romance featuring a heroine on the autism spectrum who writes comic books and a wonderfully sweet, caretaker hero who is a blacksmith and former military guy.
– What Alice Forgot, a LitFic by Liane Moriarty, in which a 39 YO woman in the middle of a contentious divorce hits her head and forgets the last 10 yrs of life.
Least favorite was Fire & Brimstone by R.L. Mathewson. I’ve always enjoyed her Neighbors from Hell series, but this one just didn’t do it for me.
