First things first: HAPPY FATHER’S DAY to all the fathers out there, and to the single mothers who pull double duty. Thank you for all you do.

Holly: I’m in a slump..again. I’m doing a skim-through re-read of Oracle’s Moon by Thea Harrison, and I’m enjoying it, but it’s a half-hearted effort at best. I really want to read, but nothing is catching – or holding – my interest.

I may be in the mood for a paranormal. Any recommendations?

Rowena: I got a lot of reading done this week. More than I thought I would considering we’re getting our house ready for 2 graduation parties and loads of family coming into town. I read The Book of Broken Hearts by Sarah Ockler and Wait for Me by J. Lynn. I loved both books! Now I’m finishing up Wedding Night by Sophie Kinsella so that I can start on our book club book, The Gamble by Kristen Ashley.

What are you reading?

If you want something a little different to try to break your slump, you might try some UF since it tends to have more of a focus on plot and less on romance. I would recommend the Iron Druid series by Kevin Hearne. It’s straight UF, no romance, featuring a 2,000 YO Druid living in Tempe, Az who looks like a 21 YO and has an Irish Wolfhound that he communicates with telepathically. If you want both romance and plot, I’d recommend the Arcadia Bell series by Jenn Bennett.

  2. Should I be worried about you? Lately, you’ve been in more reading slumps than anyone else I know. You’re scaring me. Pretty soon you’re going to tell me you haven’t read a book in months, which turns into years. Don’t let that happen Holly!
