Kris‘ review of Marriage in Moonlust by Kate Hill

Sacrificed to a family of vampires, Leona is rescued by handsome, powerful Narcisse Debray. In spite of her initial fear of blood drinkers, Leona is unable to control her attraction to the vampire lord. His lovemaking excites her beyond her wildest imaginings and he offers devotion such as she’s never known. Unfortunately, their happiness is tainted by the wickedness of a jealous enemy. Narcisse’s younger brother will stop at nothing to see the lovers destroyed.

The story begins with Leona being taken by the local lord, who also happens to be a vampire, as a sacrifice.  She is rescued by his brother who is the actual lord who had been away for a while.  He saves her life and asks her to stay because obviously her family and the village does not care about her since they gave her up on a silver platter to die.  She stays.  The younger brother is now ticked off because his “meal” is now sleeping in his older brother’s bed.  Lots of bad blood there (that was a really cheesy line after i thought about it, but it fits).  Of course, the two fall in love and there is a happy ending after some other stuff.  You have to read it to find out what.

This was a nice short story.  But definitely not my favorite by Ms Hill.  The storyline was decent, but I have issues with love at first sight or falling in love after knowing each other for a day.  So that was a detractor to me.  The love scenes were nice.  The characters were good, though the heroine was a little too sweet for me to fully love her.  The male characters were both very good.   Your diametrically opposed brothers, both handsome but one with a good heart and one without.  The hero was very sexy, I liked his character the best.  Strong, cute, dangerous and still missing his dead wife. The only thing I did not like about him was his name, shallow, I know, but every time  saw it I had to force my self not to say Narcissa.
I liked it, it was not a bad book but not awesome so I give this story a 3 out of 5.
