Being of Polynesian decent, I was wondering if anyone out there knows of any books set in the islands. (Hawaii, Samoa, Tahiti, Tonga, those islands) I’d like to read a book where either the hero or the heroine has some Polynesian blood in them and I can’t find any that feature them. Can anyone help a sister out, if there aren’t any out there…then maybe I’ll have to start writing those stories my hot dang self. But I sure would like to read some island romances because I know a lot of Poly guys (especially rugby players) that would make fine heroes in our books. =)
Please let me know if you guys can remember any.
Thanks bunches,
Rowena
Robyn Donald wrote a bunch of older Harlequin Presents set on South Sea islands…but none of the main characters were Polynesian, I think.
This is on Samhain’s coming soon pages, so I haven’t read it yet. But I’ve had my eye on it 🙂

HelenKay Dimon’s “Your Mouth Drives Me Crazy” is set in Hawaii and the hero is a native.

Beyond Eden by Elizabeth Lowell is set in Hawaii. I will warn you though, I thought the hero was quite a jerk, in the book. I did like the heroine though. You might want to check it out.
Oh yeah, how could I have forgotten The Shadow and the Star by Laura Kinsale? That is a great book and I just loved it. It takes place in Hawaii about half the book, England the other half.
Thanks so much everyone, I’m really looking forward to checking all of those books out…I’ll totally be getting to those as soon as I can. Many thanks!
