Valentine Cookie Recipe from Mary Burton

Posted February 15, 2012 by Holly in Reviews | 1 Comment

It’s Love at First Bite!

Whether she’s keeping the romance alive between characters, choosing new victims for her romantic suspense novels, or baking up a storm in her Richmond, Virginia kitchen, New York Times bestselling author Mary Burton does nothing half-heartedly—and that includes whipping up her 2012 Valentine’s Day recipe, Peanut Butter Chocolate Cookies.

Peanut Butter Chocolate Cookies

1cup of sugar
1 cup of peanut butter
2 teaspoons of baking powder
1 egg
1 teaspoon of vanilla
½ cup chocolate chips
½ cup Craisens

● Mix sugar, peanut butter, baking powder, egg and vanilla.
● Add chocolate chips and Craisens.
● Form dough into balls then flatten.
● Garnish with chocolate bits or Craisens.

Bake in a 350 degree oven for 15 to 20 minutes.

Let cool completely before serving.

“There is no better flavor combination than peanut butter and chocolate.  Separately they are wonderful but together they are deadly delicious.  Your sweetie will be completely delighted with these sinfully good Valentine’s Day cookies, which are a snap to make!”
Enjoy!
Mary Burton’s latest book BEFORE SHE DIES has just been published.

Happy Valentine’s Day! *And a Giveaway*

Posted February 14, 2009 by Holly in Giveaways | 10 Comments

I’ve personally never been a fan of Valentine’s Day. I really don’t understand the point. It’s just one more day men have to remember not to get themselves in trouble over. And it’s so commercialized!

I know many of you adore it. Many of us who read romance novels are romantics at heart. I’m really kind of not one, my dh is the one who remembers birthdays and anniversaries and does sweet, romantic things..I always forget.

However, in the spirit of the holiday I’m going to offer two copies of 1001 Ways to be Romantic by Gregory J.P. Godek. I have a copy myself and it’s really filled with some great ideas. Simple things, from writing a note and leaving it on the bathroom mirror to big things, like planning a secret weekend getaway with your significant other.

Are you getting enough love, passion, fun, ROMANCE?

Here are hundreds and hundreds of ideas and resources for transforming your relationship into a vibrant, exciting love affair.

–Flirt shamelessly with your partner, IN PUBLIC . . .
–Write I LOVE YOU with soap on the bathroom mirror . . .
–STEAL a kiss, GIVE it back . . .

Plus much, much more, including gifts and gestures, setting the atmosphere, surprising your partner and the author’s personal notes on the best of the best when it comes to ROMANCE.

Leave a comment on this post telling me what the most romantic thing you or your significant other has done OR what the most romantic thing you’d like to do for someone else or have done for you. I’ll choose two winners tomorrow.

This contest will run until 11:59 p.m. tonight, so don’t delay.
