BIG GIRLS DON’T CRY…
THEY GET EVEN.

Lillia has never had any problems dealing with boys who like her. Not until this summer, when one went too far. No way will she let the same thing happen to her little sister.

Kat is tired of the rumours, the insults, the cruel jokes. It all goes back to one person– her ex-best friend– and she’s ready to make her pay.

Four years ago, Mary left Jar Island because of a boy. But she’s not the same girl anymore. And she’s ready to prove it to him.

Three very different girls who want the same thing: sweet, sweet revenge. And they won’t stop until they each had a taste.

Ooh, revenge. Sweet, sweet revenge. I can already tell by just reading the blurb for this book that it’s going to be drama filled and oh so good. I’m excited to read it. I can’t wait for this book to come out so that I can get my hands on it. It comes out on September 18, 2012. That’s just around the corner so woo hoo for short waits!

Anyone else looking forward to reading this one?

Book Watch: The List by Siobhan Vivian.

Posted October 21, 2011 by Rowena in Promotions | 2 Comments

An intense look at the rules of high school attraction — and the price that’s paid for them.

It happens every year. A list is posted, and one girl from each grade is chosen as the prettiest, and another is chosen as the ugliest. Nobody knows who makes the list. It almost doesn’t matter. The damage is done the minute it goes up.

This is the story of eight girls, freshman to senior, “pretty” and “ugly.” And it’s also the story of how we see ourselves, and how other people see us, and the tangled connection of the two.

I cannot even imagine coming to school one day and finding myself on the list as the ugliest girl in my school class. I have no idea what I would do or who I would run to but you can bet the damn farm that students show up at school with guns because of things like this. I’m kind of anxious to read this book because I’d like to get into the heads of the girls on the ugly list from this book. My heart already hurts for them. I gotta read this one. It comes out on April 1, 2012 so mark your calendars.

Book Watch: Not That Kind of Girl by Siobhan Vivian.

Posted August 17, 2010 by Rowena in Promotions | 3 Comments

This book first came to my attention on The Story Siren’s In My Mail vlog. It looked like a good book (it’s that cover snob thing, I’m working on that) and so when I saw the cover on The Story Siren, I looked it up and now I want to read this sucker.

Here’s the cover that caught my eye:

And here’s the blurb that sealed it’s fate in my TBB list:

Natalie Sterling wants to be in control. She wants her friends to be loyal. She wants her classmates to elect her student council president. She wants to find the right guy, not the usual jerk her school has to offer. She wants a good reputation, because she believes that will lead to good things.

But life is messy, and it’s very hard to be in control of it. Not when there are freshman girls running around in a pack, trying to get senior guys to sleep with them. Not when your friends have secrets they’re no longer comfortable sharing. Not when the boy you once dismissed ends up

being the boy you wants to sleep with yourself – but only in secret, with nobody ever finding out.

Slut or saint? Winner or loser? Natalie is getting tired of these forced choices – and is now going to find a way to live life in the sometimes messy, sometimes wonderful in-between.

Yeah, this book sounds like all kinds of good and I’m all about reading it too. This book comes out on September 1, 2010 so that’s just a few weeks. Anxious, that’s me. Mark your calendars!
