2018 is off to a great start on the new releases front and there are quite a few books coming out that we’re looking forward to. Here are the books coming out this month that we’re all excited about.
Nobody Does It Better (Masters and Mercenaries #15) by Lexi Blake.
A spy who specializes in seduction
Kayla Summers was an elite CIA double agent, working inside China’s deadly MSS. Now, she works for McKay-Taggart London, but the Agency isn’t quite done with her. Spy master Ezra Fain needs her help on a mission that would send her into Hollywood’s glamorous and dangerous party scene. Intrigued by the mission and the movie star hunk she will be shadowing, she eagerly agrees. When she finds herself in his bed, she realizes she’s not only risking her life, but her heart.
A leading man who doesn’t do romance
Joshua Hunt is a legend of the silver screen. As Hollywood’s highest paid actor, he’s the man everyone wants to be, or be with, but something is missing. After being betrayed more than once, the only romance Josh believes in anymore is on the pages of his scripts. He keeps his relationships transactional, and that’s how he likes it, until he meets his new bodyguard. She was supposed to keep him safe, and satisfied when necessary, but now he’s realizing he may never be able to get enough of her.
An ending neither could have expected
Protecting Joshua started off as a mission, until it suddenly felt like her calling. When the true reason the CIA wanted her for this assignment is revealed, Kayla will have to choose between serving her country or saving the love of her life.
Casee: Lexi Blake? Gimme.

She hadn’t purposefully faced risk until she met him…
April Snyder has survived loss, pain, and uncertainty. Now she’s ready to live again. There’s nothing left but to make a difference for others, so why not go undercover in the cult? Now all she has to do is keep it professional and ignore her handsome, deadly, overbearing partner, who’s too sexy for her peace of mind.
Intrigue, risk, and danger make for an irresistible temptation–until enemies close in, threatening everyone they’ve sworn to protect.
Casee: I’m one book behind in this series and I can’t wait to jump back in.
Brooklynaire (Brooklyn Bruisers #4) by Sarina Bowen.
A sexy new standalone from USA Today bestseller Sarina Bowen.
You’d think a billion dollars, a professional hockey team and a six-bedroom mansion on the Promenade would satisfy a guy. You’d be wrong.
For seven years Rebecca has brightened my office with her wit and her smile. She manages both my hockey team and my sanity. I don’t know when I started waking in the night, craving her. All I know is that one whiff of her perfume ruins my concentration. And her laugh makes me hard.
When Rebecca gets hurt, I step in to help. It’s what friends do. But what friends don’t do is rip off each others’ clothes for a single, wild night together.
Now she’s avoiding me. She says we’re too different, and it can never happen again. So why can’t we keep our hands off each other?
Rowena: Nate and Becca’s book! I could not wait to get my hands on this book and the minute I got it for review, I started it. It was just as good as I thought it would be and I loved Nate just as much as I thought I would. So much goodness in this book.
Holly: I.Can’t.Wait. I’ve been dying for Nate and Becca’s story since book 1 was released!
Hello Stranger (Ravenels #4) by Lisa Kleypas.
A woman who defies her time
Dr. Garrett Gibson, the only female physician in England, is as daring and independent as any man—why not take her pleasures like one? Yet she has never been tempted to embark on an affair, until now. Ethan Ransom, a former detective for Scotland Yard, is as gallant as he is secretive, a rumored assassin whose true loyalties are a mystery. For one exhilarating night, they give in to their potent attraction before becoming strangers again.
A man who breaks every rule
As a Ravenel by-blow spurned by his father, Ethan has little interest in polite society, yet he is captivated by the bold and beautiful Garrett. Despite their vow to resist each other after that sublime night, she is soon drawn into his most dangerous assignment yet. When the mission goes wrong, it will take all of Garrett’s skill and courage to save him. As they face the menace of a treacherous government plot, Ethan is willing to take any risk for the love of the most extraordinary woman he’s ever known.
Rowena: I’m looking forward to reading this book. Holly shared a theory that I’m itching to find out if it’s true or not. I’m thinking she’s right so this book needs to hurry up and come out so that I can read it and love it already.
Holly: I’m really looking forward to this one. I loved the good Doctor in the other books and I’m excited for her to get her own book.
Shot on Gold (Play by Play #14) by Jaci Burton.
In the new Play-by-Play novel by the New York Times bestselling author of The Final Score, opposites attract when a figure skater and hockey player lace up their skates–and go for the gold…
Will “Mad Dog” Madigan is making his second trip to the Winter Games, and he couldn’t be happier. Hockey is his life and playing for the U.S. team is a privilege. Then he meets U.S. figure skater Amber Sloane. She’s beautiful, ambitious and driven–everything Will desires in a woman. He would love to show Amber how hot life off the ice can be.
Amber has skated her entire life, sacrificing everything in the hopes of one day winning gold. Now she’s competing for the third and final time. She intends to win, and nothing’s going to get in her way–until she meets Will. He’s an irresistible charmer, and before long Amber is wondering if this sexy hockey player is the perfect guy to show her some moves outside the rink.
But after all the medals have been awarded, Will and Amber will have to decide if what they have together is just a fling or a real shot at true love.
Rowena: I’m enjoying this series so I’m looking forward to continuing it with this book. I can’t remember Will or Amber so they’re completely new characters to me but their romance sounds like a sweet one so I’m in.
Holly: Hockey and Figure Skating? Yesssss.
Rough Ride by Kristen Ashley .
From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Kristen Ashley comes a new story in her Chaos series…
Rosalie Holloway put it all on the line for the Chaos Motorcycle Club.
Informing to Chaos on their rival club—her man’s club, Bounty—Rosalie knows the stakes. And she pays them when her man, who she was hoping to scare straight, finds out she’s betrayed him and he delivers her to his brothers to mete out their form of justice.
But really, Rosie has long been denying that, as she drifted away from her Bounty, she’s been falling in love with Everett “Snapper” Kavanagh, a Chaos brother. Snap is the biker-boy-next door with the snowy blue eyes, quiet confidence and sweet disposition who was supposed to keep her safe… and fell down on that job.
For Snapper, it’s always been Rosalie, from the first time he saw her at the Chaos Compound. He’s just been waiting for a clear shot. But he didn’t want to get it after his Rosie was left bleeding, beat down and broken by Bounty on a cement warehouse floor.
With Rosalie a casualty of an ongoing war, Snapper has to guide her to trust him, take a shot with him, build a them…
And fold his woman firmly in the family that is Chaos.
Holly: I’ve been curious about Rosalie and Snapper. This sounds like it’ll be a darker read, but I’m looking forward to it.

Holly: A new Courtney Milan! Hooray.
From Lukov, with Love by Mariana Zapata.
If someone were to ask Jasmine Santos to describe the last few years of her life with a single word, it would definitely be a four-letter one.
After seventeen years—and countless broken bones and broken promises—she knows her window to compete in figure skating is coming to a close.
But when the offer of a lifetime comes in from an arrogant idiot she’s spent the last decade dreaming about pushing in the way of a moving bus, Jasmine might have to reconsider everything.
Including Ivan Lukov.
Rowena: I liked the Zapata books that I’ve read and I want to continue reading more of her stuff and this one sounds like a cute romance so I’m in.
Next Year in Havana by Chanel Cleeton.
After the death of her beloved grandmother, a Cuban-American woman travels to Havana, where she discovers the roots of her identity–and unearths a family secret hidden since the revolution…
Havana, 1958. The daughter of a sugar baron, nineteen-year-old Elisa Perez is part of Cuba’s high society, where she is largely sheltered from the country’s growing political unrest–until she embarks on a clandestine affair with a passionate revolutionary…
Miami, 2017. Freelance writer Marisol Ferrera grew up hearing romantic stories of Cuba from her late grandmother Elisa, who was forced to flee with her family during the revolution. Elisa’s last wish was for Marisol to scatter her ashes in the country of her birth.
Arriving in Havana, Marisol comes face-to-face with the contrast of Cuba’s tropical, timeless beauty and its perilous political climate. When more family history comes to light and Marisol finds herself attracted to a man with secrets of his own, she’ll need the lessons of her grandmother’s past to help her understand the true meaning of courage.
Rowena: I’ve only read one Chanel Cleeton book before and I enjoyed it but this one sounds a lot different from that book and I’m mighty interested in reading this one. This is on my wishlist for sure.
I’m honestly not super excited about anything this month. Then again I feel like I’ve not been super excited about most books lately. I’m kind of in a reading slump, partly because I’ve been sick and busy and partly because lots of the books I’ve picked up lately have been disappointing. Boo.
I might check out the Lexi Blake one, but tbh famous heroes/heroines are not my thing so I am hesitant. I’m interested to hear how Next Year in Havana is too, because I’ve certainly heard good buzz about it already.
I hadn’t known there was a new Mariana Zapata book in the works, so thanks for that information! (Hmm, too bad I can’t find it on Amazon.) I’m also looking forward to the books by Courtney Milan, Lisa Kleypas, and Sarina Bowen.
