*We’re catching up on our Monthly Reads posts. I have no idea how we got so far behind (ok, yes I do, I got lazy).
Rowena: May was a pretty good reading month for me. Not the best, but not the worst so I’m not complaining. May was the month that I finally caved to Holly and read my first Kristen Ashley book. I loved it. I will definitely be reading more Kristen Ashley books just as soon as I get my review pile down some. I get a little anxious when I’m not reading from my review pile.
Anyway, here’s what I read in May:
Cowboy Take Me Away by Jane Graves (3 out of 5)
Golden by Jessi Kirby (4.5 out of 5)
Rush Me by Allison Parr (4.5 out of 5)
Cover Me by Catherine Mann (2.5 out of 5)
Own the Wind by Kristen Ashley (4.75 out of 5)
The Good Lawyer by Thomas Begnino (DNF)
Dare You To by Katie McGarry (4.75 out of 5)
Fallen too Far by Abbi Glines (2 out of 5)
The Rules for Disappearing by Ashley Elston (3 out of 5)
Faking It by Cora Carmack (4.5 out of 5)
Hold Me Down Hard by Cathryn Fox (4.25 out of 5)
My favorite read of the month goes to Own the Wind by Kristen Ashley and Dare You To by Katie McGarry. Both were fantastic romances and both had me wanting more from the cast of characters that this author introduced us too. My least favorite read of the month was my non-blog book club read, The Good Lawyer by Thomas Begnino. That book was slow and well, boring to me.
Holly: May was a slow month for me. I did a re-read of Meljean Brook’s Iron Seas series, which is amazing. I don’t know that I’ve given 5 stars to every book in another series, ever. Aside from that, my reading was pretty meh.
Guardian Demon by Meljean Brook 5/5
Tethered by Meljean Brook 5/5
Riveted by Meljean Brook 4.5/5
Heart of Steel by Meljean Brook 5/5
The Iron Duke by Melean Brook 5/5
Here There Be Monsters by Meljean Brook 5/5
Mina Wentworth and the Invisible City by Meljean Brook 4.25/5
Faking It by Cora Carmack 4.25/5
Cover Me by Catherine Mann 2.5/5
Fire Inside by Kristen Ashley 2.5/5
Trying to Score by Tony Aleo 1/5
Breeding Cycle by T.A. Grey 1.5/5
My favorite reads of the month were obviously the Iron Seas books. If you haven’t read them, you really, really need to. Trust me, these books are fabulous. Even if you aren’t a fan of steampunk, try them. Just do it. Then come back and tell me I’m right. I love that. 🙂
My least favorite read of the month was Trying to Score by Tony Aleo. That heroine. Ugh.
What were your favorite and not favorite reads of the month? Do you even remember now?
