I gave up on both the Dark series and Ghostwalker series long ago, though I do still read the Drake Sisters series (the last book is out this year..SAD!!). Despite having given up on her two longer series, I’m still a fan of her writing. One of the things I’ve been wanting for years is another Leopard novel. The series first started a spin off of the Dark series in the Fantasy (Jove, 2006) anothology with the novella The Awakening. At the time I read it (I was late in coming to the series, so I kind of read all the books at once) I was already starting to burn out on the Dark books. But The Awakening was fresh and interesting and gave a new twist to what was becoming a rather repetitive series.
The first full length novel in the series, Wild Rain, came out in January of 2004 and I absolutely adored it. It was dark and wonderful and, if I’m being totally honest, sexy as hell. But then..nothing. There was talk about her continuing the series and every once in awhile a rumor would surface that a new Leopard novel was going to be released, but..nada. Until now. Four years later.
I heard rumors about this before, but ignored them until now because I wasn’t sure they were true. But it looks like finally – finally! – she’s releasing a new Leopard novel. Burning Wild is set to be released April 28th. Of 2009. WOOT!
Despite the long wait in between, I’m really excited for this book. I’ll definitely have re-read The Awakening and Wild Rain first, but I’ll be picking this up as soon as it comes out. Anyone else with me?

I’ve been really looking forward to another novel in the Leopard series as well Holly. I was very excited to hear about this one.
I haven’t read anything by Feehan. People keep telling me I won’t like her writing style. Hmm…might need to try this series.

I’ve read her Drake Sisters and a few of the Dark books. I think I’ve read 1 Ghostwalker book too. But I don’t think I’ve ever even heard of the Leopard series. Might be interesting since I’m a sucker for shape-shifters.
I was excited when I just found out about this one too. I haven’t been able to get into the Carpathian series, never read the Drake Sisters books and I’m way behind in the Ghostwalker books – but I too loved Wild Rain and I’ve been hoping for another one ever since I read it.
Yes, this is great news! Though I would have loved it even more if she wrote the story for one of the characters we already met in the first two, eg. Drake (iirc). But will still definitely be looking out for it!
I’m still a Feehan fan…not of the Dark series, although I really liked the first two books a lot. I’ve really liked the Ghostwalker series, and just finished MURDER GAME. However, I too have been wondering if she was ever going to continue with the Leopard series and didn’t have this one on my TBB. So thanks oodles for this.
