Kris‘ review of Acts of Passion by Sedonia Guillone
Jack Cade is skeptical of the new criminal profiler he’s using. Michael seems so absent-minded and too neurotic to be effective. But he is brilliant and hot and Cade finds himself falling hard and fast, both in lust and in love. The attraction is mutual, although Michael’s past demons haunt him, keeping him from getting too close. Together, they begin to unravel Michael’s emotional knots even as they close in on a killer, another brilliant, wily person whose sights are now set on Michael.
Jack is on a murder case where he wants the help of a profiler, so he calls his usual profiler at the university to find out that he has retired and recommends is replacement. Enter Michael. Michael is a hot mixture of Asian and Italian with a great brain (awesome combination). The murder turns out to have a lot of Asian themes that Michael recognizes. As they work the case they become sexually involved which leads to them becoming emotionally involved. Though Michael has some issues that have to be resolved before they can fully commit to one another and there is the little problem of the killer to catch.
I love the show Criminal Minds so this was like reading a sexy episode, loved it. I also loved the attention to detail as far as the murder went. The love scenes were hot. Jack is a sexy strong police detective and Michael is a gorgeous nerd, what is not to like. This had a great storyline. It was very well written and kept me interested the whole book. The only thing not positive thing that I have to say about it would be that I wish the ending had been a little longer, but it was still a good ending.
I give it a 5 out of 5
