Avon is teaming up with the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance (OCNA) to launch a campaign to raise awareness and help contribute funds to try to cure ovarian cancer. This campaign is known as K.I.S.S. and Teal which stands for Know the Important Signs & Symptons. In an effort to help get the word out on this very worthy cause, Book Binge is trying to get the word out.
There are seven books linked to this cause and the books are marked with the KISS and teal logo pictured above on the covers of each book. The books involved are:
The Seduction of Scandal by Cathy Maxwell
The Deed by Lynsay Sands
A Night to Surrender by Tessa Dare
In the Arms of a Marquess by Katharine Ashe
One Night in London by Caroline Linden
Star Crossed Seduction by Jenny Brown
For each book (from the list above) sold between the dates of August 30, 2011 through February 28, 2012, Avon will donate 25¢ to the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance to help fund research for a cure for ovarian cancer. How cool is that?
So while you can, get out there and buy some books (who doesn’t love buying new books?) and do your part to help where you can. =)
Did you know???
- Every year, about 21,000 women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer and about 15,000 women die from the disease?
- Ovarian Cancer accounts for about 3% of cancers in women?
- Overall, the ten year survival rate for ovarian cancer patients is 39%.
- The five year survival rate for ovarian cancer patients is 46%.
- Women diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 1975 experienced a five-year survival rate of 34.8 percent; today, the American Cancer Society estimates the rate to be 46 percent.
Statistics were taken from the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance website, for more information click here.
I’m so pleased about this worthy campaign. I have shared it on Facebook and hope that it will be a great success. Thank you for your hard work in doing it.

Great way to raise awareness of ovarian cancer!
@Connie: We’re just doing our part in helping get the word out on it in hopes that people will buy the books. Thanks for stopping by.
@Estella: I totally agree!
