Casee: Hello from the Mainland. My Hawaiian vacation is over and it’s back to real life for this girl. I had tons and tons of time to read while I was on vacation, but it just didn’t happen. I did finish The Deal by Elle Kennedy and ohmygod you guys, I loved it. Elle Kennedy is just another one of those authors for me. Those authors who could write a grocery list and I would read it. I can not say enough about how much I loved it. Look for my review soon. Even though I planned on reading more, I still read five books in July, which is pretty good for me. I really thank Rebecca Zanetti for that. They were all really good books, with the exception of one.
Shadowed by Rebecca Zanetti | 4.5 out of 5
Marked by Rebecca Zanetti | 4 out of 5
Vampire’s Faith by Rebecca Zanetti | 4 out of 5
The Year We Hid Away by Sarina Bowen | 3 out of 5
The Deal by Elle Kennedy | 5 out of 5
My favorite read of the month was definitely The Deal by Elle Kennedy. Loved, loved, loved it.
Holly: July was a pretty sad reading month for me. I wanted to read, but I was on vacation for most of the month without a lot of extra time. I managed 9 books.
Wild Like the Wind by Kristen Ashley |
The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang | 4.25 out of 5
The Trouble with Love by Lauren Layne | 4 out of 5
Midnight Valentine by J.T. Geissinger | 2.75 out of 5
Iron and Magic by Ilona Andrews | 4.25 out of 5
Burn for Me by Ilona Andrews (reread) | 4.25 out of 5
White Hot by Ilona Andrews (reread) | 4 out of 5
Wildfire by Ilona Andrews (reread) | 4.5 out of 5
Heart of Obsidian by Nalini Singh (reread) | 4.5 out of 5
My favorite read of the month was The Kiss Quotient. I really loved the reverse Pretty Woman storyline and both the hero and heroine. My least favorite was Midnight Valentine by J.T. Geissinger. It started out really strong but went downhill at the end.
Rowena: July started off on a great reading note for me but then loads of things happened that got in the way of my reading time. Family pictures, funerals, mini friends reunions and getting a new bed. I did manage to get some reading in though.
Coming Undone by Lauren Dane | 4.25 out of 5
The Real Deal by Lauren Blakely | 4 out of 5
Every Time You Go Away by Beth Harbison | 3 out of 5
Baby Daddy by Kendall Ryan | 3 out of 5
To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han | 4.5 out of 5
P.S. I Still Love You by Jenny Han | 4.75 out of 5
Always and Forever, Lara Jean by Jenny Han | 4.75 out of 5
A Duke by Default by Alyssa Cole | 4.25 out of 5
My favorite reads of the month go to all of the Jenny Han books. I read each of them like three times and I still haven’t fully moved on from them. I just adored the books, Lara Jean and Peter Kavinsky so much. I’m super ready for the Netflix release of the movie on August 17th.
My least favorite read goes to Every Time You Go Away by Beth Harbison. It was too slow to pick up and in the end, it was just okay.
This month we’re giving away a book for three lucky winners. The three winners will be able to choose one book from any of the books we logged in the month of July. If you want to be entered to win, leave a comment on this post telling us what your favorite – and least favorite – reads of the month were.
So…what was your favorite read of the month? And your least favorite? Use the Widget to enter! Good luck!
I wasn’t sure if I was going to like Sarah Morgan’s shift into women’s fiction, but How to Keep a Secret was good. I didn’t have a least favorite.
Some July favorites include Dark Space and Darker Space both by Lisa Henry; J.A. Sutherland’s science fiction novel Into the Dark; and re-reads of books by Kim Fielding, Anne Bishop, and Anne Cleeland.
I generally put aside books that don’t grab me, so I won’t list any least favorites.
The best romance I read in July was The Kiss Quotient. The worst… hmm, it’s marketed as new adult fantasy, but really it’s paranormal or fantasy romance, and that was A Court of Frost and Starlight. Yikes :/
I had some fantastic reads in July. My favorite was The Accidentals by Sarina Bowen, and that’s saying a lot because I rarely read or enjoy YA. After that, I read When It’s Real by Erin Watt and loved it also. Honorable mention to The Kiss Quotient and to Royally Matched by Emma Chase (which I believe I won here!). In any other month, either of those would have been my top read of the month. Least favorite was When You Knew by Jamie Beck. There wasn’t anything wrong with it, I just couldn’t connect with either of the main characters.
worst book- viper by Patricia A. Rasey
Beautiful Exiles was interesting
My favorite read was The Duke with the Dragon Tattoo by Kerrigan Byrne. I didn’t really have a least favorite. All the ones I read were either good or solid….
Nothing stands out as the worst (TBH, it’s been a long month and I’m having trouble remembering most of it)
