Holly: This week was another slow reading week. We moved our daughter’s best friend into her dorm and my husband and I spent a long weekend away, so I didn’t have a lot of reading time. I read Hold On by Kristen Ashley, the last book in her ‘Burg series. It was really good. I enjoyed finally getting Cheryl’s story and seeing her land Merrick. Once I finished, I was still in the mood for KA, so I read Walk Through Fire, her upcoming Chaos Motorcycle Club book. It was really good, too. I didn’t love it as much as the previous book, Ride Steady, but I liked it. And because reading KA is a slippery slope for me, I went on to re-read The Will and Soaring. I can feel you judging me over there. It’s not my fault. I have an illness. KA-itis or something.
Next up for me is Heart Legacy by Robin D. Owens. I was so excited when I saw this one on NetGalley. I love Owens and can’t wait to get back to Celta.
Rowena: Ugh, I’m so late today. Sorry guys! I’ve been super swamped at work all day. It’s like everyone is trying to get their orders in before the long weekend. Gah.
Anyway, I’ve gotten some good reads in this week which made me happy. I finished reading Finding Perfect by Kendra C. Highley, which was a book that I was kind of worried about. I remember reading one other book by Highley, and the main character got on my nerves but I shouldn’t have worried at all with this book because I loved it. I thought it was one of the cutest contemporary YA romances that I read all summer. So cute!
I also read Shooting Dirty by Jill Sorenson which was another great read. It reminded me so much of Sons of Anarchy and I miss Jax Teller so this was a nice reminder of that. The characters were great, the romance between Ace and Janelle was freaking hot and I’m kind of anxious for a book between Rex and Tiffany. How in the world is that going to work and what’s Rex’s deal? I think I have an idea but I’m looking forward to finding out for sure.
Right now, I’m reading Forever Your Earl by Eva Leigh and so far, it’s pretty good. The writing style has already got me interested in reading more so I’m hopeful that I’ll enjoy this one too. September is treating me well so far and I’m hoping it stays that way.
What did you read this week? Anything good?
Ah, I’m looking forward to reading those new Kristen Ashley books as well as that forthcoming Robin D. Owens book.
