Samantha Young has made her way onto our radar (and on to our auto-buy lists). ON DUBLIN STREET captured our attention but it was DOWN LONDON ROAD that won our hearts. If you loved ON DUBLIN STREET then you are definitely going to love DOWN LONDON ROAD. And to whet your appetite for what’s to come, here’s an excerpt from our friends at Penguin:
Excerpt from Down London Road by Samantha Young. Copyright May 2013.
I stripped out of the Dolce & Gabbana and put it into my dry- cleaning bag. Only time would tell if I got to keep it or not. The flat was freezing, so I hurried into my warm pajamas and dove under the covers.
After such a long day, I thought I’d fall asleep instantly. But I didn’t.
I found myself staring up at the ceiling, playing Cam’s words over and over inside my head. I’d thought I was used to people thinking I was worthless, but his attitude for some reason stuck in my side like a knife.
And yet there was no one else to blame but myself.
I chose this path.
I turned on my side, pulling the duvet up to my chin. I didn’t think I was unhappy.
I didn’t know if I was happy, though.
I supposed it didn’t matter as long as the end result was that Cole was happy.
Readers will remember Jo from ON DUBLIN STREET as the gold digging friend/co-worker of Jocelyn. She played a small part but she was definitely a memorable character. When she pops up again in DOWN LONDON ROAD, I wasn’t sure what to expect but Samantha Young did a fantabulous job of sucking me right back into her world. Both Holly and I loved this book to pieces and we’re thrilled that it comes out soon. (H: Yes, this is a book I highly recommend)

My favorite cocktail is a margarita, my husband makes it just the way I like it! But my favorite drink is water, I always carry a water bottle with me everywhere I go. Thanks for the post, I am so excited to read Down London Road!

Don’t really have a favorite cocktail. I guess my favorite drink is a nice cold vanilla coke. 🙂
I love vodka with pink lemonade!
I like Tom Collins with gin.
I would have to pick a gin and tonic as my favorite cocktail.

Cranberry juice with tonic water and a slice of lime.
Normally I’m not a fan of mint, but I love Mojitos.

I don’t drink alcohol, so I guess my favorite “mixed” drink would be sweet tea. 😉
I need my ice tea everyday and for a night out a good margarita.

If it is alcohol..it would be Skyy Vodka and cranberry juice. It is is non-alcoholic then it would be either Diet Pepsi or ice tea.
I’m not a big drinker, but every now and then I do like a Long Island Iced Tea. Yum!
I don’t drink any kind of alcohol, so my favorite beverage is diet coke. Thanks for this chance.
