Monthly Reads: July 2012

Rowena: I didn’t get as much reading done as I had hoped in July but I can’t say that I was too mad about that.  It was the summer and I was out in playing in the sun…at least I think I was. =)

Here’s what I read back in July.

My favorite read for the month of July has to be Such a Rush by Jennifer Echols, My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick and my re-read of Double Standards by Judith McNaught.  The first two are YA/New Adult books that I enjoyed a great deal and the last book is a book that almost nobody that I know likes but I love enough for all of us.  My least favorite book from July is without doubt Burn by Heath Gibson.  It took me so long to read that book because I just couldn’t get into it.  I kept hoping that it’d get better and it never did.  Oh well.

Holly: July was a slow reading month for me, too. I read 10 books.

  1. Riveted by Mejlean Brook
  2. Starlight by Carrie Lofty
  3. Serpent’s Kiss by Thea Harrison (re-read)
  4. That Thing called Love by Susan Andersen
  5. The Darkest Day by Britt Bury
  6. A Girl Named Summer by Julie Garwood
  7. Within Sight by Sarah Mayberry
  8. Eight Arms to Hold You With by Ally Blue (DNF)

Even though I had a slow month, I had another good month quality wise. I adored Lord’s Fall and Riveted. Both are continuations of series I love. I also really enjoyed the Mayberry and the Garwood. My least favorite read was Eight Arms to Hold You With. It’s an octopus shifter book, so I expected something kind of freaky and dirty. What I got was boring and slow. And not the good kind of slow. Total disappointment. I ended up stopping about halfway through.

How was your July in reading?
