Spring Fling Giveaway: It’s Springtime & That Means GIVEAWAYS!

Posted May 2, 2012 by Rowena in Giveaways | 40 Comments

Well, at least that what is means on Book Binge for the entire month of May. You know it’s Springtime when the flowers are out in bloom and belly buttons are out on display everywhere you turn.

For the entire month of May, we’re going to be giving away a whole lot of books. Each week, we’ll host a couple of giveaways and then we’ll wrap everything up in the last week of the month. All you have to do is join in the discussions we’ll be having each week and you’ll be entered to win some fabulous books.

Want to know what books we’re giving away? We’ve put together a Spring Giveaway Bookshelf on Goodreads to show you all of the books that you’ll be able to win just by stopping by our blog and chatting with us about books. Check it out:

Each winner will get a box full of books. It will be random and you won’t know until you open up your box what books you will be getting. You can take a look at the bookshelf we created of the books we’re giving away for a peek at what you might get. But the joy of this months festivities is the surprise that will be waiting for you when you open your boxes.

To kick things off, we’re going to be discussing book covers. What are some of your favorite book covers?

It shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that my favorite covers include these:

I’m pretty partial to the yummy covers with shirtless hot guys on them but I do like covers like the last few covers for Nora Roberts.

I love the colors and how adorable they are. They’re really girly and I like girly things so they were a definite hit with me. (Holly: That Bed of Roses cover freaks me out..her arm is..awkward.)

What about you? What are you some of your favorite book covers that you’ve come across? Please make sure that you include a valid email address with your comments to be eligible for entry into the giveaway. Us and Canada only*

Each contest ends on May 30th at 11:59PM. You can enter any and all giveaways we hold throughout the month but you will only be allowed to win one. We will be holding two giveaways a week and each winner will win roughly about 25 books each. Winners will be announced the first week in September.

Thanks for stopping by. There will be plenty of chances for you to win some fabulous books so stay tuned, you won’t want to miss out.

-Rowena, Holly & Casee

*we don’t normally limit the contests we sponsor ourselves, but in this case the sheer number of books makes shipping international cost prohibitive. International readers: If you have a friend in the states willing to mail your prize, feel free to enter

Umm, I’m international, so don’t enter me 🙂
But I love talking about book covers! My favorite book covers is anything that feature Paul Marron. If you don’t know him, he’s the model of LOTHAIRE by Kresley Cole, Lover Avenged and Fallen Angel series by J.R.Ward. I think most romance novels cover now have him as the model, LOL!
Another my favorite covers is Guild Hunter series by Nalini Singh. So pretty! 🙂

  2. Those are some awesome covers. I also like the covers to Lauren Dane’s Brown Sibling series and her futuristic books.

I love contemps. But nothing is better than winning a big box of books – always the anticipation of it arriving and checking out what is inside. Thanks for the contest.

  4. I like the covers for Nalini Singh’s Guild Hunter novels and all of Sarah MacLean’s historical romances. I also like the quirky covers for Gini Koch’s Alien series.

  5. Best cover of all time, ever…Never Enough by Lauren Dane. All of Dane’s covers are compelling, but this one stunned.

  6. Definitely love those Burton and Edwards covers – hot hot hot. One of my favs is Never Enough – those eyes!

  7. Dane

I love the cover art from Sara Douglass’ Wayfarer Redemption series. Those covers are the reason I first picked up that series!

I also love the cover for the Wolves of Mercy Falls books, by Maggie Stiefvater. But I must say, those Burton and Edwards books are very…distracting…

What was I saying? Oh right! Email is tsukishine at gmail.com

  8. Any of Katie MacAlister’s Light Dragon series, have never read any of her books but love the covers!
Lorelei James’ Rough Riders series are nother fav of mine, and I love the books!

  9. I like Sherryl Woods covers so pretty and colorful and also some of Debbie Macombers, they’re very homey. Also the hot cowboys on Linda Lael Miller’s covers.

For contemporary books, I think Julie James has great covers. I agree with your Brides series (Nora Roberts) choice, too. As for historicals, Cecilia Grant’s debut book and upcoming novel have very nice covers.

  11. I also love Jaci Burton’s cover! It’s no hardship to like them. 😉 And the Fast Track books by Erin McCarthy are goregeous to look at as well. I also adore the covers of the Wallflower series by Lisa Kleypas. I’m definitely a fan of dresses on covers.

Oh my, is it even legal to post so much cover goodness in one? I like all sorts of covers from the sizzling to the sweet. The Bride Quartet covers are some of the prettiest. They simply ooze romance. I also like covers that are intricate and detailed such as the Karen Marie Moning’s Fever books (hardcovers). The dark color tones fits the genre nicely and gives it a bit of mystery.

  13. Eloisa James always has beautiful book covers. I do like some of the beautiful gowns that are being featured on historical romance covers lately.

Oh, book covers! How I love thee! 😉
I LOVE the cover for Kerrelyn Sparks’ How to Marry a Millionaire Vampire. It’s gothic and creepy, which makes me laugh, because the actual book is nothing but fun!

  15. Holy Macaroni w/ the book giveaways!

    Thank you ladies!!!

I’d have to say that my top fav covers are Nalini Singh’s Guild Hunter novels. In fact, the cover is what originally got me to pick up the first book in the bookstore. I had originally not known anything about her until that gorgeous cover caught my eye.

  16. Some of my favorite book covers are all of Ann Aguirre’s Sirantha Jax series, all of Kevin Hearne’s Iron Druid series, and all of Jennifer Estep’s Elemental Assassin series. They’re all outstanding covers that really illustrate the main character.

I do love a good shirtless man on the cover. But I will admit I usually buy those books on my kindle. I can’t tell you why, even though I’m 30, my face still turns bright red if someone stares at the cover of the book I’m buying. I know I know… don’t be embarrassed but I can’t help it lol
I love a lot of the historical romance covers I’ve seen lately. The ones with the beautiful colorful dresses always catch my eye.

I love Lauren Dane’s Federation Chronicles covers. I also really like many of Megan Hart’s Spice covers. It goes without saying that Jaci Burton’s Play by Play covers are beyond gorgeous.

Those Jaci Burton & Louisa Edwards covers are certainly eye-catchers (they catch mine everytime I see them). Those covers of Nora Roberts are very pretty, but her name catches my eye no matter the cover. Besides having a hunky guy on the cover, I find that bold colors also work to attract.

I really like the stepback covers seen on many historicals and some of my favorites include Sarah MacLean’s “A Rogue by Any Other Name,” Elizabeth Hoyt’s “Scandalous Desires” and Gaelen Foley’s “My Irresistible Earl.”

of course I can’t think of a single example when asked 🙂 there’s been a number of paranormal covers out recently that I thought were pretty hot (generally hunky guy looking hot & dangerous). The cover for Lauranne Dohner’s Wraith is really hot — hotty in the shower (he could join me anytime) & it even goes with the book as there are a couple scenes with him in the shower too 🙂

  25. I like the faceless woman’s torso covers – they’re usually really pretty. One of my favorites is The Raven Prince by Elizabeth Hoyt – the older cover with the green necklace. I also like the historical clinch covers just because some of them are crazy awesome and they just speak romance to me (although a lot of people consider this a bad thing), but I think they’re pretty and also cracktastic fun.

  26. Jaci Burton’s The Perfect Play holds a special place in my heart *grin* Oh yes, it does.

Right now I’m in love with the just revealed cover for Ann Aguirre’s second Razorland novel, Outpost (see it here)–and I think the covers art for all of her Jax/Grimspace covers is most excellent–not only does it relate to the books and the character, but it’s very appealing to the eye.

In completely different direction, I really like the cover of Lauren Dane’s Undercover–there is something so dreamy about it (and let’s not mention the covers for the Phantom Corps books *grin* those are pure eye candy!)

I could go on, but these are the ones that come to mind right now.

Thank you for the giveaway, ladies!

  27. You guys pretty much hit my two faves. I normally don’t like the “shirtless guy” covers, but the newer ones, like the Lori Foster series, really trip my trigger. For the most part though, I tend to like the more “nebulous” (aka, they don’t scream, “I’m reading a romance, feel free to judge”) covers like the Nora Roberts.

  28. I am a cover hussy 🙂 Love Jaci Burton’s Play by Play covers and Maya Banks Sweet Series.Lissa matthews Blue Jeans and Hard Hats series.Compass Brothers books by Mari Carr and Jayne Rylon.I could go on and on.

  29. I like the Julie Garwood historical covers, just really nice, simple settings.

    Thanks for this contest!

  30. Having been reading romances for 25+ years now, I have gone thru the clinch covers, the “just objects on the front” covers, mostly nekkid men covers, headless covers, nature covers, sweet covers, women in gorgeous dresses covers, kick-ass women (and men) covers — you name it, I’ve seen it.
I like them all — and I must admit that the cover will make me pick a book up — but if the blurb on the back or the first few pages don’t grab me, it goes back on the shelf.
