Joy Delamere is suffocating…
From asthma, which has nearly claimed her life. From her parents, who will do anything to keep that from happening. From delectably dangerous Asher, who is smothering her from the inside out.
Joy can take his words—tender words, cruel words—until the night they go too far.
Now, Joy will leave everything behind to find the one who has offered his help, a homeless boy called Creed. She will become someone else. She will learn to survive. She will breathe…if only she can get to Creed before it’s too late.
Set against the gritty backdrop of Seattle’s streets and a cast of characters with secrets of their own, Holly Cupala’s powerful new novel explores the subtleties of abuse, the meaning of love, and how far a girl will go to discover her own strength.
For some reason, I’ve been drawn to the books where there might be emotional or physical abuse to one of the characters in the book. Now, this book doesn’t expressly admit to physical or emotional abuse but it’s hinted at and I find myself very curious about it all. This book sounds like it’d be an intense book and I find myself wanting very much to read it so on my book watch radar it goes.
Is anyone else looking forward to reading this book? This book comes out on January 3, 2012 so we still have a few more months before it releases and I can get my hands on it but it’s good to have things to look forward to, right?
..and that’s your scoop!

Ooh, this book sounds interesting! I love that the MC has asthma, and that it focuses on subtle abuse–which is often the most damaging. I’ll have to add this one to my list!
Sounds really cool. And the cover is gorgeous. I see the hint of abuse too, and it got me curious!
Oh wow, this sounds like a great read. I can’t believe I hadn’t heard of it before now. Thanks for the great post. I, too, can’t wait to read this book now.
And thanks for stopping by our blog:)
