Holly: This was a pretty good reading month for me with the exception of the last week. For some reason I fell into a funk and couldn’t finish a book. But the first three weeks totally made up for that last one. I read 21 books.
1. Wild Card by Moira Rogers 3.5/5
2. Sabine by Moira Rogers 3.75/5

Many of the books I read were re-reads. That seems to be a recurring theme for me lately. I’m more interested in reading old favorites than new releases. I need to work on that. I also need to work on reviewing. Cripes am I behind.
My best reads of the month were re-reads. I can’t pick just one since I love them all. My favorite new read of the month was…probably Hunting Human by Amanda Alvarez. It wasn’t without flaws but the story was very emotional and raw. It’s stayed with me the whole month. My least favorite was probably Liberty Starr, followed closely by Can’t Hurry Love. It pains me to admit I didn’t care for Can’t Hurry Love because Ridgway is a favorite author and I adored the first two books in the series. Unfortunately this one didn’t work for me.
Rowena: March was a better reading month for me than February was though I didn’t read nearly as much as I could have. Things keep popping off in my personal life that take me away from my reading and reading slumps have plagued me since the beginning of the year as well. It’s annoying but what can you do?
Anyway, here’s a list of the books that I read last month:
- The Book of Forever by Cecelia Ahern. (DNF)
- The Sweetest Thing by Jill Shalvis. (4.5 out of 5)
- Mad Love by Suzanne Selfors. (4 out of 5)
- Playing for Keeps by LuAnn McLane. (4 out of 5)
- Wither by Lauren DeStefano. (4.5 out of 5)
- Just Like Heaven by Julia Quinn. (4.5 out of 5)
- Breaking the Rules by Suzanne Brockmann. (Put down)
- Invincible Summer by Hannah Moskowitz. (3 out of 5)
- The Last Little Blue Envelope by Maureen Johnson. (4 out of 5)
- It Happened One Season by Stephanie Laurens, Mary Balogh, Jacquie D’Alessandro and Candice Hern. (4 out of 5)
- Royal Weddings by Stephanie Laurens, Gaelen Foley and Loretta Chase. (2.75 out of 5)
I started and stopped a few other books as well but that’s the gist of the books I read last month. My favorite read of the month goes to The Sweetest Thing by Jill Shalvis and Just Like Heaven by Julia Quinn. I’m a slave to their writing, I just absolutely love the both of those authors.
My least favorite read of month would probably go to either Invincible Summer by Hannah Moskowitz that I reviewed over at my YA blog, The Book Scoop. It was a weird book that was hard to like but I couldn’t stop reading it. Weird but that book and Royal Weddings Anthology with Stephanie Laurens, Eloisa James and Loretta Chase were books that I was slightly disappointed in. The DNF read by Cecelia Ahern wasn’t necessarily a bad book, it just wasn’t what I was in the mood to read. I kept starting it and then putting it down and then starting it again until I gave up and put it down for now. I’ll get back to it eventually but for now, it’s a DNF.
Now that my reading is getting back on track (slowly but surely), I need to get my ass in gear and start writing some reviews. That’s my goal for April, let’s see how I do.
Casee: I don’t know if I’m going to make a goal for April or a goal for May to read more. It seems like a goal for May would seem better since we’re already a week into April. I kind of picked up at the end of March. Then my sister came to visit. Instead of book reader, I turned into book protector. To think I had too many books. As if.
1. Navarro’s Promise by Lora Leigh (4.25/5)
2. Breaking Point by Pamela Clare (4.25/5)
3. Hunter’s Fall by Shiloh Walker (4.25/5)
4. In Too Deep by Jayne Ann Krentz (3.5/5)
5. Treachery in Death by J.D. Robb (4.5/5)
6. Lover Unleashed by J.R. Ward (4/5)
7. Breaking the Rules by Suzanne Brockmann (3.75/5)
I really can’t decide my favorite. I read some good books in March. My least favorite was the Jayne Ann Krentz.
This month we’re giving away:
Hunting Human by Amanda E. Alvarez
The Sweetest Thing by Jill Shalvis
Pre-order of Breaking Point by Pamela Clare
If you want to be entered to win, leave a comment on this post telling us what your favorite – and least favorite – reads of the month were. Also, be sure to tell us what book you’re interested in reading. You can put your name in for more than one book, but you’ll only be allowed to win one, so choose wisely.
So…what was your favorite read of the month? And your least favorite?
My favourite read of the month was Master Of Smoke by Angela Knight and my least favourite was The Cyber Chronicles: Bk 1 Queen Of Arlin by T C Southwell. I have to add however that my favourite short story of the month was In The Park by Lexie Donovan becasue it was my daughter’s first ever published work :d
I would love to win Breaking Point by Pamela Clare. It sounds like an action back read.
My favorite of the month was What I Did for a Duke by Julie Anne Long. My least favorite was When Harry Met Molly by Kieran Kramer.
Please enter me in the drawing for Jill Shalvis or Pamela Clare.
Aw, I’m so glad you enjoyed The Sweetest Thing enough to list it as one of your two fave reads for the month! Thank you!!
I have been on a Maggie Osborne/Western glom. My favorite read of the month was The Wives of Bowie Stone.
Three Nights With a Scoundrel by Tessa Dare was my favorite of the month. Harmony’s Way by Lora Leigh my least favorite.
I’ll put my name in for the Pamela Clare book; it sounds like a contemporary and I haven’t read any of hers. — willaful
In March, I read two books that I’m sure will be on my personal “Best of 2011” list: Courtney Milan’s Unveiled and Julie Anne Long’s What I Did for a Duke. They are both luminous, with unforgettable characters and wonderful writing. Just lovely. I did enjoy everything I read last month. But, at the bottom of the list was Linda Fairstein’s Silent Mercy.
If I win I’d like either the Shalvis or Clare book. Thanks.
I’m reading Kay Hooper’s Once a Thief & enjoying it very much. I had just finished re-reading Jayne Ann Krentz’s Light in Shadow.
If I win first choice is Breaking Point by Pamela Clare (lloks like a great adventure) & then Jill Shalvis (can’t do the other book because it looks to just come in e format)

My favorite book from March was A Lot Like Love by Julie James. I love her voice so much. My least favorite was an old book from my TBR pile, Romeo for Hire by Jane Beckenham. It fell really flat from an engrossing opening few chapters. I’d like to be entered for The Sweetest Thing.
Some of my favorite reads in the month of March were: an ARC of Meg Cabot’s upcoming young adult paranormal book, Abandon, Missing You also by Meg Cabot, My One and Only by Kristan Higgins, and Something About You by Julie James.
I didn’t have a least favorite read of the month. They were all pretty awesome.
I’d love to read The Sweetest Thing by Jill Shalvis.
Diana
My favorite reads last months were : Across the Universe by Beth Revis and Trance by Linda Gerber.
don’t have least favorite.
and i would really like to read The Sweetest Thing by Jill Shalvis then Pamela Clare.
Favourite for March was The Forbidden Rose by Joanna Bourne – I can’t for the life of me work out why I took so long to read it. Least favourite was, sadly, Kristan Higgin’s My One and Only. It was okay but I found it very difficult to warm to the hero and even the heroine wasn’t very likeable at the start, IMO.
Please count me in for Pamela Clare’s new one, Breaking Point – the cover is pretty awesome and I’ve enjoyed her other I-Team books (although I really must read Naked Edge soon…)
Let’s see best book:
A tie between Spellcrackers book 2 and 3 by Suzanne Mcleod.
Worst, oh I didn’t have any book like that, but Taste me by Tamara Hogan and Knowing me knowing you by baggot
I do love to win The Sweetest Thing by Jill Shalvis

Hello,
My favorite book of the month was a Lot like Love by Julie James – I just wish the book was longer – hope to visit with these characters in her next book. I also read a Julie Ann Long book for the first time (What I did for a Duke) – which I really enjoyed. I don’t have a least favorite this month – I pretty much liked almost all the books I read.
I would pick Pamela Clare’s Breaking Point.
Thanks.

I was lucky enough to get my hands on an advance reading copy of Kiss of Snow – that was definitely the highlight of my March reading. The rest of the month’s reading was a mixture of paranormal romance, fantasy and mystery. It was a good month, since I liked everything I read.
Hunting Human or The Sweetest Thing
