It’s that time of year when I put together a bunch of reading challenges that I will be participating in next year. This year, I participated in a few challenges where I did extremely well and then I participated in some that were epic fails but that’s not going to stop me from participating and by participating, I mean I do them unofficially.
I do them at my own pace and I don’t really enter any of the giveaways, I just set boundaries for myself and go on from there.
Here’s a list of challenges that I will unofficially be participating in.
1. 2011 YA Romance Reading Challenge. Hosted by For the Love of YA!
Guidelines:
*Books read before January 1, 2011 do NOT count towards the challenge.
*Audio, eBooks, paper all count.
*Re-reads are ok but try to keep them to a minimum.
*Cross overs from other challenges are ok.
*There is no need to create your list now. Please feel free to use your challenge post to keep track of your titles if you so desire.
This should be fun and it’ll keep on track with the reading for this blog.
2. 2011 Paranormal YA Reading Challenge. Hosted by For the Love of YA!
Guidelines:
- Books read before January 1st do not count.
- Audio, eBooks, paper all count.
- Re-reads are ok but try to keep them to a minimum.
- Cross over’s with other challenges are ok.
- There is no need to create your list now. Please feel free to use your challenge post to keep track of your titles if you so desire.
Another reading challenge that will keep me on track for this wonderful blog.
3. Outdo Yourself Reading Challenge. Hosted by The Book Vixen.
Guidelines:
- Runs January 1, 2011 through December 31, 2011 (books read prior to 1/1/11 do not count towards the challenge). You can join at anytime. You can sign up on The Book Vixen’s blog.
- The goal is to outdo yourself by reading more books in 2011 than you did in 2010. See the different levels below and pick the one that works best for you. Nothing is set in stone; you can change levels at any time during the challenge.
- Books can be any format (bound, eBook, audio).
- Re-reads and crossovers from other reading challenges are fine.
- You can list your books in advance or list them as you read them. It is not required that you review the books you read for this challenge but feel free to do so.
- Post this reading challenge on your blog so you can keep a list of the books you’ve read for this challenge. Please include a link back to this post so readers can join the challenge too.
- You do not have to be a book blogger to participate. You can keep tabs on books you’ve read for this challenge on Goodreads or LibraryThing if you’d like (maybe make a shelf for “Outdo Yourself Reading Challenge”). If you are not on either of those sites then you can list the books you read for this challenge in the comments on my wrap-up post, which will be up at the end of 2011.
I’m going to do this challenge instead of the 100+ Reading Challenge. I’m going to outdo myself in the year 2011, just you watch!
4. 2011 E-Book Reading Challenge. Hosted by The Ladybug Reads.
Guidelines:
- Anyone can join. You don’t need a blog to participate. (Non-bloggers: Include your information in the comment section.)
- There are four levels:
— Curious – Read 3 e-books.
— Fascinated – Read 6 e-books.
— Addicted – Read 12 e-books.
— Obsessed – Read 20 e-books.
- Any genre counts.
- You can list your books in advance or just put them in a wrap up post. If you list them, feel free to change them as the mood takes you.
- Challenge begins January 1, 2011 and lasts until December 31, 2011.
- When you sign up under Mr. Linky, put the direct link to your post about the E-Book Reading Challenge. Include the URL so that other participants can find join in and read your reviews and post.
I need to keep my nook in working order so I’m going to be reading a lot of ebooks this year as well, so this challenge will keep me in line with that one.
That’s all of the challenges that I will be participating in. Not too much that I’ll overdose on challenges but enough to keep me pleasantly busy throughout the year. I won’t be putting up individual posts for each of these challenges but you’ll be able to keep up with my progress on the right sidebar of this blog.
So there you have it, what I’ll be up to next year, what are some of the reading challenges that you will be participating in come next year?
..and that’s your scoop!
Lots of challenges! I think I’m just sticking with the 2011 Debut Author Challenge. I didn’t complete it this year, but I also joined late soo… yea, that’s my excuse! 🙂
Thank you for posting these! I will definitely be signing up for a couple of them myself. Challenges are such great motivation, and they help me find new books.
Cool challenges! I might do some too, 🙂 Like the YA Contemp Rom one, sounds cool. 😀
Thanks for joining the E-Book Reading Challenge! Have fun!
Mollie,
I know but I’m excited! So wish me luck!
Logan,
You’re very welcome! Welcome to my blog and I wish you the best of luck on your reading challenges for next year!
Alex,
Hey you! You should definitely do it, we can keep each other going throughout the year! =)
I think I went a little crazy with reading challenges for 2011 – I’m participating in a total of 10. For 2010, I did 2. LOL
Thanks for participating in the Outdo Yourself reading challenge!
