Ten Reasons to like Fiery Tales!…by Lila DiPasqua

When I landed a contract with Penguin/Berkley to write fairy tale retellings with my own sexy twists I was over the moon! I took my love of fairy tales, historical romance and passionate love stories, and blended them into steamy fairy tale retellings in AWAKENED BY A KISS and my brand new release, THE PRINCESS IN HIS BED—the first two books in my Fiery Tales series!

Now, I know what you’re thinking: I grew up reading fairy tales, Lila. Will I like your version of Fiery Tales?

Here are ten reasons why I think you just might:

1. There are three hot historical bad boys who will seduce the objects of their desires in each book. Repeatedly. *winks*

Adam de Vey, Marquis de Nattes (The Marquis’ New Clothes)
Joseph d’Alumbert, son of the Duc de Vernant (The Lovely Duckling)
Mathias de Tesson, Marquis de Montfort (The Princess and the Diamonds)

2. There are three smart heroines who will make these gorgeous men lose their hearts.

3. In The Marquis’ New Clothes, (from THE PRINCESS IN HIS BED) the hero does not walk down the street naked while people snicker.

4. When our hero, Adam de Vey is naked, he’s quite impressive to behold. There is nothing on his muscled body to snicker at.

5. If you’ve been in a fire and have scars on your body, (Emilie from The Lovely Ducking in THE PRINCESS IN HIS BED) spike the hero’s interest by boldly writing him letters asking him to explain sex and seduction.

6. Princess Gabrielle can’t sleep at night. There is something hard in her bed. No peas stuffed under this Princess’s mattress! There are stolen diamonds tucked under her mattress, and a handsome, muscled Marquis on it. She must gamble with the diamonds….but it will cost her her heart. (The Princess and the Diamonds from THE PRINCESS IN HIS BED)

7. Sleeping Beauty has the tables turned on him in Sleeping Beau when he is awakened by a luscious kiss. The intensity of his night of raw ecstasy rocks this rake! When he meets his mysterious seductress years later, he has a few questions for her….and some delicious carnal fantasies he intends to fulfill. (in AWAKENED BY A KISS)

8. Nicknamed “Le Loup” the wolf, Nicolas is indeed a wolf in sheep’s clothing as he secretly works for the Crown. (Little Red Writing from AWAKENED BY A KISS) He never expected that his suspect would turn out to be his sexual soul mate. And his heart’s one desire.

9. Elisabeth (Bewitching in Boots from AWAKENED BY A KISS) is the King’s favorite daughter and a woman used to getting what she wants. And she wants the Captain of the King’s private Guard, tall, dark and oh so handsome, Tristan. The problem is he hates her. She intends to rely on wit, seduction…oh and her lucky boots in order to have him!

10. These books are set in the very decadent, elegant and most wicked time when the genre of fairy tales was born! Dare to step into my Fiery Tales world? You just may be swept up…and scandalized. *smiles*

Thanks for having me!

QUESTION: What was the last thing you did that was different? Or is there something you’d like to do/try that’s different or new to you?

I never do anything different. I ususally do the same thing again and again. I would love to travel to Europe one of these days that would be very different! LOL! Thanks for sharing with us today!

  2. I’m usually a historic romance reader, exclusively. However, I recently read a blog post by a contemporary romantic suspense author, so I gave her free read a go. Within five pages of the freebie, I clicked my Kindle on and bought her book. I’m glad I tried something new. 🙂

The last ‘big’ thing I did was change jobs. For six months I thought I’d made a horrid mistake-then after the adjustment, realized it was a great move. Different sometimes makes your heart race for awhile, but that’s not always a bad thing.

I’m loving the Princess in His Bed, Lila!

  4. @Victoria—Thanks so much for the lovely comment about THE PRINCESS IN HIS BED! I’m so delighted you’re enjoying it. I’m glad the new job is working out for you! 🙂

  5. Hi Lila,
I’ve been consumed with finding a job and every interview I have is different. Someone always asks a question I haven’t heard before, or their office is somewhere I’ve never been before. So there have been lots of new things for me during this job hunt. Once I actually get a job, there will be the new and different tasks to learn, and I’m looking forward to that.
I love the idea of Fiery tales and I’m looking forward to reading your books.

  6. Being a city girl, I long to do more outdoorsy things like hiking or camping outdoors. That would be something different but my friends are so not into that type of stuff, I need to find me a sexy park ranger somewhere…LOL!

I couldn’t wait anymore and bought “The Princess In His Bed” yesterday. I’ll be reading it on Turkey Day!!!

The last thing I did that was different was last night– shame! naughty minds!– I only slept for two hours! I woke up, looked at the clock, and was like what. The. Heck. Yeah, not a lot to run on! Too bad this didn’t happen on Friday LOL 🙂

    Hi Lila,

    I don’t often do anything different. I live a pretty regimented life….sigh.

I would love to just spend one day in bed, reading, eating, drinking, reading and reading….more sighs.

  9. I don’t like to do anything different. I hate change. But there is one thing that I would like to do,if I get the nerve one day, is to start my own business.

  10. A year ago, I walked away from a high pressure, high stress job to take care of an elderly parent. I thought I would loose myself since I so identified myself with my work. This is time with Dad that I would never have had and now I’m so glad I took that walk…annhonATaolDOTcom

  11. I started a little blog a little while back – that was pretty different for me – I usually tend to stay in the background but I like reading romance novels so much and I visit review sites all the time so I wanted to join in the fun too.

  12. My husband and I rented a car in Scotland and drove all over! We had a great time and the rental guy was surprised that the Americans brought the car back in one piece!!

  13. @Cybercliper–I adore your comment. It’s so very touching and I’m so glad you got to experience this special time with your Dad! Thanks so much for sharing with me. 🙂

  14. @ gamistress66–Goofy and quirky are my middle names! LOL Sounds as though we’d get along great! Thanks so much for stopping in to share and for your interest in THE PRINCESS IN HIS BED! Good luck in the giveaway! 🙂

I occasionally do things that may seem a little goofy or quirky but since that’s not so unusual for me I’d have to say I can’t think of anything offhand. 🙂 Looking forward to getting to read the new release. (Winning a copy would make a great belated b-day gift 😉 and nice end to the holiday wnkd here in the us) 🙂

  16. What would I like to do that’s different?? HMMMMM, I’d like to go back to work. That’s different LOL I’ve been a stay at home mom for 4 years, and I’m itching to get back into the adult world and have adult conversation. I’m itching to have a break from my kids. I love them all to death, but mommy needs some mommy time and no spending an extra 20 min in the bathroom with the door locked doesn’t count and neither does night time when they are sleeping ’cause I’m dead tired. That would be different and fun LOL

  17. That’s an interesting question. The last thing I think was figuring out how to can the tomatoes from the garden. No one in my family had ever done this so I had no idea.

  18. I suddenly decided to make soft pretzels! I’ll back 2 dozen and take them to work. First I started off with plain, now I’m making cheese and cinnamon and raisin!

    Go figure!!

    Thanks,

  19. I’ve always been one who did what I wanted (within reason)I usually don’t think about it for too long as thinking tends to make me change my mind. lol But one thing I’d love to do different is do things for me. It’s a hard habit to break after raising 7 kids but I’d love to do it.
    :)With out feeling guilty.

  20. I’ve always been a historical romance reader with the odd contemporary thrown in, but a while ago I tried a paranormal… and surprise surprise, I liked it!
I really love the premise of your books! Have been a fan of fairy tales since my childhood.

  21. Last thing I did different was start doing sports. I so need to get back in shape & literally haven’t done anything in years, so I feel like it’s a big change for me atm. 🙂

Hi Lila and BB, I’m not too brave for trying new things. I guess I’m comfortable with where I am, and look to good reads for that bit of adventure! Really interested in your writing, congrats on your latest book!

Sorry for the double-commenting, but as I was dish-washing and daydreaming, I did remember having had thoughts of writing romances for a living! They would be very sexy and sweet. Perhaps someday… Allison (cadnac AT gmail DOT com)
