Earlier this year I had the opportunity to meet Zoe Archer in person at one of our So Cal Blogger meets. She’s cute and funny and I really enjoyed getting to know her. In case you didn’t know, she has a new historical paranormal series out this fall. There just aren’t enough paranormal historicals available, IMO.
I especially love the premise here, because the novels don’t just take place in England. Warrior is set in Mongolia. Mongolia, y’all. How awesome is that?
To most people, the realm of magic is the stuff of nursery rhymes and dusty libraries. But for Capt. Gabriel Huntley, it’s become quite real and quite dangerous…
IN HOT PURSUIT…
The vicious attack Capt. Gabriel Huntley witnesses in a dark alley sparks a chain of events that will take him to the ends of the Earth and beyond—where what is real and what is imagined become terribly confused. And frankly, Huntley couldn’t be more pleased. Intrigue, danger, and a beautiful woman in distress—just what he needs.
IN HOTTER WATER…
Raised thousands of miles from England, Thalia Burgess is no typical Victorian lady. A good thing, because a proper lady would have no hope of recovering the priceless magical artifact Thalia is after. Huntley’s assistance might come in handy, though she has to keep him in the dark. But this distractingly handsome soldier isn’t easy to deceive…
Thanks to Zoe’s generosity, we’ve got an autographed copy of Warrior to give away. Are you interested in winning it? Tell us what appeals to you about the series, and we’ll throw your name in for it. Contest ends Oct 1, 2010 at 11:59 p.m.
All four books are being released this fall. Be sure to check them out as they’re released. Zoe will be back on the blog soon to talk about the series and to give away a full set!
I’m not familiar with this series, but from the blurb, that will be short lived. Love to find new authors with exciting stories and this sounds to fit the bill. Put me in for the drawing.
This is a new author for me, but I have heard so much about this book over the last few weeks that I am now dying to read it. Everything everyon has said has been great and the book sounds amazing. Please enter me

What I find very appealing about The Blades of the Rose series is the strength of the heroines.
This series is on my TBR list. The summary sounds great. The covers and titles for these books are wonderful. Every time I see one, I want to stop wnat I’m reading to pick it up.
What appealed to me when I added it to my wishlsit was both the setting (Mongolia isn’t used very often after all) and the storyline. I love the idea of danger, intrigue and magic in an historical setting.
I saw so much about this book about the web at different blogs and websites that I had to buy it. It’s sitting on the top of my TBR mountain.
Will get to it very soon.

I’ve been reading all the fab reviews everywhere plus, it’s a book filled with romance & adventure. Perfect!
I’m all for more exotic locales for historicals. Mongolia!

If it’s open to all then yes I am in 🙂
Honestly the first thing that made me want these were those great covers, they just ooze adventure
Please toss my name in the hat. I love adventure series with women that take you by surprise – and take the heros by surprise too!

I think this sounds like a super fantastic series. So interesting. I’m definitely grabbing the first book on my next store run!
I’ve been interested in this series since I first got wind of it. I like the whole hunting for artificacts, magic etc thing ;). Reminds me a bit of Indiana Jones of which I am a fan of.

I have been hearing/reading great things about these books for a few months now.
Personally, I love the idea of historical paranormals, and that would probably be enough to make me take a closer look, but the adventure angle, coupled with the unusual setting? Sold me.
Very odd coincidence. I just added this series to my TBR list on goodreads yesterday! One of the people I’m following is currently reading the second book in the series. She is thoroughly enjoying it!
I love magic in books. I like to escape from the real world when I read books. I recently received Scoundrel and would like to read this one first.

I’d love to read this because of the setting, I’m curious to see how much it is used in the story.

I like the different setting, so far I think the most exotic location a historical I’ve read has been set in is Egypt, so Mongolia would be a nice change.
The appeal of this series? It has a certain Indiana Jones touch and I love that it’s full of adventure and that every book is set in a different place. It’s like taking a trip through the world. I just love the idea. And everyone seems to love those book. How could I resist.

It looks like a series that is different from anything I’ve read with adventure and exotic locations and magic.
This sounds amazing. What appeals to me is the mixture action, adventure and romance.
I like how it seems to mix paranormal and historical. I haven’t read many books that include both genres.
The new author aspect combined with an appreciation for strange things happening and historical settings! Love it!

Quite everything appeals to me about this series. I love the excerpts I’ve read so far, the historical setting, the interesting countries and the covers (they are gorgeous!).
