Face Your Target…
Elliot approaches Brooke one day in the book store. He’s been watching her and he very much likes what he sees. Brooke immediately thinks that he’s incredibly attractive…for someone who’s half her age. But Elliot isn’t giving up. Brooke finally decides that even though he’s too young for her that doesn’t mean she can’t have a hot fling with him – as long as no one finds out. But neither Elliot nor Brooke are prepared for the feelings that come along with the sex.
During the time that Elliot and Brooke are having their clandestine meetings, Millie, aka Brooke’s best friend, is trying her darndest to get Brooke back together with her ex husband, Jason. You see Millie is a cupid, but not a very good one. She’s blundering around trying to get Brooke and Jason back together – which neither of them actually wants. If she doesn’t make a love match for Brooke then she loses her best friend/partner, AJ, and the love of her life, for good.
This was a cute book. I really liked Brooke and Elliot together. Elliot is just the sweetest person and makes some very lovely gestures during the course of the book that had my heart going pitter patter. He knew what he wanted and he wasn’t afraid to go after it. He hit the jackpot with Brooke. She didn’t feel like she was young enough for Elliot. She was 37 and after her divorce from Jason, after 15 years, she just felt kind of, well…old. That didn’t stop her from starting her own business and doing what she loved – which was taking care of her ebay business.
Then there was Millie. She was the only part I didn’t like about this book which is hard to say since she’s really the main character here. She learned a lot from her mistakes, yes, but having to read about those mistakes throughout the book – wow. With friends like her who needs enemies? She was supposed to be making a match for Brooke but she never really paid attention to her. Millie didn’t listen to her friend – she was so self-absorbed that she completely missed the boat with what Brooke was telling her. I know that this was a huge lesson learned for her and a major part of the book but I found her so annoying, I’m sad to say, I really only enjoyed the parts of this book that she wasn’t in.
The book, for me, when Millie wasn’t in it, was a cute contemporary read. Fun, funny & sexy.

Thanks so much for reading and sharing your honest opinion of Play Fling! Millie definitely gets a strong reaction in readers and its always a love hate relationship. Spoiler alert: over the course of the series, she will evolve, redeem herself and ultimately be forced to match herself. I hope she’ll be able to earn your love along the way.
Great blog, too!
