We’ve got FIVE copies of Immortal Sea to giveaway today. To make it interesting, you can answer one of two questions.
1) If you were finfolk, what sea creature would you shapeshift into?
OR
2) What did Virginia say to convince you to read the Children of the Sea series?
Answer in any of the Virginia Kantra posts that are up today!
Oooh, I was going to say a shark – because who wouldn’t want to be at the top of the food chain.
But on second thought – I think I would want to be a dolphin shifter. 🙂

I would say shark to be at the top of the food chain, but I don’t think I’d be able to eat other animals 🙁 I’ve always loved seals and dolphins and they are so graceful in the water and are smart, so maybe either of those

A dolphin would be cool. I read a romance book years ago by Betina Krahn about dolphins and how magical they were. I think it would be pretty neat to swim with them. Thanks for sharing!

I think a mermaid (is that an option?) because I would always have that awesome flowing hair thing going on while underwater.
When I was little I was so fascinated by Seahorses, but I don’t know if I would want to be one. I am thinking I would go with being a shark-shifter.
Can’t wait to read this one!
Thanks!
What did Virginia say to convince you to read the Children of the Sea series?
Since Virginia described Morgan as ruthless, it sounds like he’s an alpha hero that finally meets his match. I like those type of plots.
Morgan shifts to a couple of forms over the course of the book, but this may be my favorite:
He shook back his hair and dived, holding his breath against the shock of cold, the painful ecstasy, into the clear salt dark, into the pulse and surge and curl of the water, letting the joy take him, letting the water take him, one with the joy and the water.
Home.
Free.
His boundaries blurred and dissolved. His bones melted, stretched, fused. The pulse of the waves became his pulse, the heart of the ocean, his beating heart. He felt the Change rip through him like another pain, another ecstasy, tearing, convulsive, consuming as climax.
He retained just enough of his human mind to shape the Change as the hand of a potter shapes the clay. He was speed, size, strength, he was death in the water. He was the wolf of the ocean, Orcinus, seal killer, whale killer, killer whale.

Definitely alpha, anyway!
I would pick… a Seal. Every since I was little I have loved seals. They are still the first thing I go to see when I’m at the zoo.

I would say a seal. They are so sleek looking.

If it is open worldwide then I am in 🙂
I think, oh hard, fish isn’t that pretty, but a dolphin would be nice
She got me with selkie. I always liked stories like that, and with people from the sea
I have been reading the Children of the Sea series since I read the short story “Sea Crossing” last year, and I’m overjoyed that the series is continuing with Immortal Sea (go, Morgan!)
If I were finfolk, I would shapeshift into a dolphin, for sure.
Or a killer whale.
Or perhaps a sea turtle.
*ahem*
I would definitely want to turn into a dolphin! 🙂
Probably a dolphin because they are such loving animals and everyone loves them. I enjoyed reading about how Virginia came up with this series while thinking about a new suspence novel. 🙂
I’d like to read this series because Virginia said there’s a strong thread of suspense in most of Children of the Sea.
If I were finfolk and could shift into a sea creature, it would be a sea dragon. Keri Arthur says they exist, so that’s what I want to be, LOL.
When Virginia said: “Both the selkie and the finfolk have their origins in Orkney legend, but the finfolk are darker and even less human, so all that wonderful tension between land and sea, human and merfolk, intensifies in this book.” That’s what caught my interest and made me want to read the Children of the Sea series.

Cetaceans are cool, but I like pinnipeds more. Specifically, the elephant seals who hang out at the beach I frequent. Seals (see my pic) are always anxious whenever they see a person, but elephant seals couldn’t care less. Plus, if I sing old Barry Manilow songs, they don’t even open their eyes to look at me as I walk by (giving them the wide berth required by law). Sure, porpoises and dolphins look like they’re having way more fun and orcas (wolves of the sea) are way cool, but the look on a young male elephant seal that is listening to Barry Manilow is priceless.

So loving the seal comments! You guys rock!
Usually I have to explain why, when other writers are doing dangerous men with fangs and black beasts prowling the primeval jungle, I am immersed in Sea World.
I would have to say dolphin.
If I were finfolk I would be a shark.

Love dolphins!
But the shark scenes were the most fun to write.
Dolphins are my favorites so that would be my choice! tWarner419@aol.com
I’d want to be a mermaid, Siren of the Sea. I’ve always liked merfolk stories, so of course I made sure to start reading this series when it came out.
honestly I can’t remember a book with a sea creature as a shapeshifter, therefore the series sounds interesting! and so far I haven’t thought about what creature I would like to be …
Virgina convinced me with her despriction of her world and I will def keep her in mind 🙂
I would pick a whale because they are like the kings of the ocean.
I would say a dolphin. They are so cute.
Hmmm, I think I would be a dolphin shifter. Or a mermaid if they were real …. Thanks!
I love this series. If I could shapeshift it would have to be a dolphin. I’ve love them.
i’d have to say dolpihn or mermaid as well. looks like an awesome series.

I think I would change into a turtle. A giant one.
