Undoubtedly, we all looked forward to summer vacation when we were in school. Tell us about the best summer vacation you remember.

Best summer vacation — three years ago, between my sophomore and junior year in college. Went away to this island to be part of a writing workshop. Met a lot of awesome people, had a lot of fun times. Learned to write better — best of all, met the man I’m currently living with. 🙂
Summer between sophomore and junior year in high school was particularly fun. I hung out with two girls, one of whom was older and had a car. We went to the beach a lot and got sunburned. There was a particular party on the beach with older boys (who weren’t Jewish like the boys in my school). Too bad the beach patrol knocked over the bonfire and shut the party down. Oh well.
(the second best summer was the one I spent playing Dungeons and Dragons with my siblings instead of studying for the SAT)

Disneyland with my best friend. It was right after we graduated from high school. Disneyland is still my favorite place to go.
The summer that I turned 16, I went to the beach with a friend and her family. I got sunburned, ate shrimp for the first time, got stung by a jellyfish, met some really cute guys and laughed the whole time! When we got home, it was time to start our senior year in high school…and that’s another story : )
Best Summer vacation – 2 years back. College summer vacation – my friends and I took a road trip for 3 weeks. Was the best fun I ever had!
When I was a kid my favorite vacations were going down the shore where we could build sand castles on the beach and then walk the boardwalk with the chance to win a prize and eat salt water taffy.

Best summer vacation was when we rented a cabin in the mountains. It was far away from town to be serene but close enough to go sightseeing.
My best summer vacation had to be during high school when I got to go to a convention at Disney World with my family.
The summer before my senior year in High School my two best friends and I (along with my Mom) spent 3 weeks traveling in Europe. My Mom is from the Netherlands, so we got to stay with my grandparents and do short trips from there. Most of our traveling was done in the first 2 weeks (1 friend had to get back for band camp, lol). We traveled through Germany’s Romantic Road, Austria (Innsbruck, Salzburg), Italy (Verona), Switzerland, France (Paris), Belgium and, of course, all over the Netherlands. It was one of the best trips ever. (Sadly, it was also the last time I saw my Oma. She passed away less than 2 years later. The photos from that trip are the last ones I have of us together.)
My best summer vacations were spent at my grandmother’s house. It was simply carefree and love-filled.
A couple come to mind, but I’ll go with the family vacation to the Great Smoky Mountains. I was still in elementary school and remember being excited to finally see real mountains. It was so beautiful. Last year, my sister and I reprised part of that trip!
The most memorable summer vacation is definitely the first time our parents took us to the US. We were all in awe. Our country was coming out from an extremely difficult decade and improvements to its infrastructure were still budding. We went to Disney World – wow. I am trying to convince my husband that the expensive airfare is really worth the trip.

Best summer vacation was our rafting trip on the Ocoee River. We had great weather and stayed in a beautiful log home. Everyone had a blast.

The best summer vacation I’ve had was probably about 6 years ago. My in-laws took my husband and me and my sis in-law and brother in-law on a cruise to Alaska. It was a lot of fun, they paid for it, my mom took my kids and before the boat took off we were able to see my brother in-law do his thing with the blue angels and we got to go behind the scenes. Spent an entire week on the boat getting pampered and having 5 course meals. Spent the first day in bed being sea sick, but partied our butts off the rest of the time and stopped at some amazing places in Alaska and went to see Glacier Bay. Things I probably never would of seen or done otherwise.
The best vacation I ever had was when I was about 11 or 12 years old and I took a trip with my best friends family. We all took a motorhome down from Oregon to Santa Cruz, California. We made lots of stops along the way and did lots of sightseeing. When we got Santa Cruz we camped on a beach for a week. We went to the boardwalk almost everyday and when we weren’t riding rollercoasters we sunbathed, swam, ate tons of yummy food, watched cute boys, and walked around like we were hot stuff! Those were magical fun times when I was so much younger and did not have a care in the world.

My favorite were the years we drove to Florida and went to Disney.
I lived on a farm, so summers were spent doing chores and getting ready for winter.
The best summer vacation I’ve had was going to the Baltic Sea as a child. My parents took my brother and me camping and we had such a blast there every year. It was such a carefree time!
Honestly, I can’t think of one extra special vacation. All of them were fun! Hanging out with friends all day. What can be better than that? 🙂
The best summer vacation I ever had was going down to the beach in North Carolina. We had a house right on the beach and just had the best time ever!
I was 16 and this college boy was staying next door for the summer, and he played the piano and we HAD a piano!!! So it was a great summer.
Hmmm…the best summer vacation was the summer I spent with my cousin and his family. They lived just over the levee from the Sacramento River.
Best summer vacation was when my dad rented a house boat and we spent 10 on Lake Shasta, water skiing and fishing. A lot of memory days that trip.
One of the best summer vacations was when I was off from elementary school. The whole family took a trip to Europe to visit some cousins in Germany and the Netherlands.
Hmm I have several summer memories. When I was little we used to go camping every summer at the lake. I never was into camping lol, but I sorta miss that now. In highschool – the summer of ’96 was a favorite of mine. It was one big vacation ;). My friends and I even had a theme song, Summer of 69 by Bryan Adams. We were constantly going to the beach, pool, or each other’s house.

Best summer vacation I ever had was when I was nine. Even as a little kid I had always wanted to go to new places so my mom took me on a road trip to Niagara Falls. Aside from seeing a new place, the best thing about the trip was that my older brother stayed in town with my dad. My brother and I didn’t get along so it was heaven to be on a trip without him.
The ONE and only actual vacation my family ever took when I was a kid – I was about 8 and we drove from Chicago to Disney World. Stopped at Graceland on the way for my mom and visited my Dad’s relatives in Alabama…it was an interesting time spent among my southern cousins…I’m sure they felt the same about me.
The best summer vacation I had was the one when I was 9 years old. I used to go to the beach all day with my friends and after that we used to play outside all day long.
