Holly
: July started out as a great reading month for me. Then toward the middle of the month it kind of slagged off. Mostly because I had to go out of town unexpectedly and didn’t get much reading done while I was away. I finished 13 books. Quality-wise, I had an awesome month. I read some really fabulous books!

  1. Love in the Afternoon by Lisa Kleypas 4.5/5
  2. Welcome Home, Cowboy by Karen Templeton 3.75/5
  3. The Homecoming by JoAnn Ross 4.5/5
  4. Lady Isabella’s Scandalous Marriage by Jennifer Ashley 4/5
  5. The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie by Jennifer Ashley 4.5/5
  6. I Kissed an Earl by Julie Anne Long 4/5
  7. Money, Honey by Susan Sey 3/5
  8. Water Bound by Christine Feehan 4.75/5
  9. If He’s Wild by Hannah Howell
  10. If He’s Sinful by Hannah Howell
  11. If He’s Wicked by Hannah Howell (re-read) 3.75/5
  12. Three Nights with a Scoundrel by Tessa Dare 4.5/5
  13. Wicked Intentions by Elizabeth Hoyt 4.5/5

It’s hard for me to choose a favorite read for this month, since I read so many great books. I’d have to say my favorite was probably Water Bound with honorable mentions to Wicked Intentions, The Homecoming, The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie and Love in the Afternoon. So, you know, basically everything I read. My least favorite read was Money, Honey, which isn’t saying much, since I enjoyed it. Just not as much as some of the others I read this month.

Rowena: The month of July flew right by me on the reading front. So much was going on in my personal life that I didn’t get as much reading done as I have in the other months of the year (well except for February which was a crap reading month for me). I read:

  1. All I Ever Wanted by Kristan Higgins.
  2. Love Me if You Dare by Carly Phillips.
  3. Life of a Poser by Beth Killian.
  4. Airhead by Meg Cabot.
  5. Greek: Double Date by Marsha Warner.
  6. Finding Perfect by Susan Mallery.
  7. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins.
  8. Forget You by Jennifer Echols.
  9. Diary of a Beverly Hills Matchmaker by Marla Martenson.
  10. The Fool’s Girl by Celia Rees.

My favorite read of the month was The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins (Team Peeta!) but I have honorable mentions for All I Ever Wanted by Kristan Higgins which I enjoyed a lot. I may not have read a lot this month but I can’t be bothered about that because I read The Hunger Games which I enjoyed so much I want to read it again.

Casee:

July can be summed up in one word. Three syllables. Pathetic. Pa-the-tic. I read a grand total of eight books. EIGHT. I think I had only read three by the middle of July. I picked it up at the end of the month, but it still wasn’t enough. It’s obvious that my exercising is getting in the way of my reading time, which is soooo wrong. My favorite book of this month was Sin Undone by Larissa Ione.

1. Sin Undone by Larissa Ione (4.25/5)
2. Touch of Seduction by Rhyannon Byrd (4.25/5)
3. Atlantis Betrayed by Alyssa Day (4.25/5)
4. The Darkest Lie by Gena Showalter (3.5/5)
5. Warrior Ascended by Addison Fox (4.25/5)
6. Lie with Me by Stephanie Tyler (4/5)
7. Edge of Hunger by Rhyannon Byrd (4/5)
8. Edge of Danger by Rhyannon Byrd (4/5)

I feel a little better now. What I lacked in quantity, I made up for in quality.

This month we’re going to giveaway:

Water Bound by Christine Feehan
Sin Undone by Larissa Ione (pre-order)
All I Ever Wanted by Kristan Higgins

If you want to be entered to win, leave a comment on this post telling us what your favorite – and least favorite – reads of the month were. Also, be sure to tell us what book you’re interested in reading. You can put your name in for more than one book, but you’ll only be allowed to win one, so choose wisely.

I didn’t have a bad reading month but I expect August to be even better because so many great books have been published in recent weeks so I have many great reads in my pile.

My favourite read was Rose Lerner’s In For a Pound. Erica Ridley’s Too Wicked to Kiss, Emma Wildes An Indecent Proposition and Jo Goodman’s One Forbidden Evening deserve a worthy mention. My least favourite read was Julia London’s Highlander Unbound – didn’t like the direction the story was taking and i didn’t finish it.

Would love ot win Kristan Higgin’s All I Ever Wanted!

  2. My favorite this month was Blood Born by Linda Howard and Linda Jones (hope they plan on writing more). Also enjoyed, Dark Deceptions, If He’s Wild and Crush On You. My least favorites were A Groom of One’s Own (I really liked her first book) and Black Magic.

I would love to win Sin Undone. I love this series.

  3. A whopping 34 books this month (plus one DNF), whoo hoo! I think that is my record for a month and almost all of them were really good.

My favorite books: Magic Bleeds by Ilona Andrews and Insatiable by Lauren Dane
Least favorite: Old Friends by Constance Day-O’Flannery

I would love any of the books offered. They are all on my tbb list.

My favourite books this month include Just the Sexiest Man alive by Julie James (finally got round to reading it), Accidental Mistress by Susan Napier and First Comes Marriage by Mary Balogh.

My least favourite has to be Bad Moon Rising by Sherrilyn Kenyon. Luckily, it was a library read. It was just plain bad.

  5. I had 2 favorite reads for July. They were: Unholy Ghosts by Stacia Kane(great series!) and Friday Night Bites by Chloe Neill.

Least Favorite: didnt’ really have one this month.

Would love to win Water Bound or Sin Undone.

    thanks!

  6. I loved In For a Penny by Rose Lerner, and The Forbidden Rose by Joanna Bourne. My least favorite was Almost Perfect by Susan Mallery, which is weird because I usually like her books alot. I would like All I Ever Wanted.

  7. My favorite read was The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie and the worst was Divine Misdemeanors by Laurell K. Hamilton, I’ve pretty much given up on her books. I would love to read Sin Undone!

  8. Casee, hehe I was sooo excited to read 9 books this month…that was a vast improvement from the ONE, yes, ONE book I finished in June.

I don’t know how ya’ll read so much!

Anyway my favorite reads this month were Broken Wing by Judith James and My Most Excellent Year by Steven Kluger.

Least favorite was Forget You by Jennifer Echols.

Holly, glad you enjoyed The Madness of Lord Ian…LOVED that one. I also read Mac’s book this month too. I enjoyed it as well!

  9. Best must be Nefertiti by Michelle Moran, and worst The Brothers of Gwynedd by Edith Pargeter, but there were a couple of others too.

And I’d sure like to read All I Ever Wanted by Kristan Higgins

Ooo, I can’t resist putting my name in for All I Ever Wanted. Hmm. Word verification is “doggings” – that seems lucky! 🙂

I’ve had a lot of duds this month. Best book was a reread of Barrayar by Lois McMaster Bujold. Worst was an old Harlequin called King of Keildor. — willaful

  11. Chelsea B.

My favorite read was Highlander Ever After by Jennifer Ashley. Love her books!
Would love to win Water Bound by Christine Feehan. I’ve never read any of her books before.

  12. July was pretty good for me at 26 total reads with my favorite being Magic Bleeds by Ilona Andrews. Least was Wolf Runner by Constance O’Banyon.

I’d love to read Water Bound by Feehan.

  13. I read only 11 books this month, but several of those really were excellent—Web of Lies (Jennifer Estep,) Welcome to Harmony (Jodi Thomas,) and Moon Sworn (Keri Arthur.) My least favorite book of the month was MaryJanice Davidson’s Undead and Unfinished, her current Queen Betsy book. I can only hope this particular novel was an aberration, and Davidson returns to the previous story line that made this series so uniquely interesting and fun. If I win, I’d like All I Ever Wanted by Kristan Higgins.

  14. My favorite was Lisa Kleypas’s, LOVE IN THE AFTERNOON, a nice read for me and my least favorite was MARRIED BY MORNING…very disappointed in Leo’s story.

I’d like to read ALL I EVER WANTED by K. Higgins. Thanks!

  15. I didn’t read a bad book last month that I can think of my favorite was Magic Bleeds by Ilona andrews. I really need to start keeping track of what I read every month. i think I’ll do that starting this month. lol
Oh and I also really liked Unholy Ghosts. I would love to win Sin Undone. That is one of my favoritest series. I am still looking for my own demon at the hospital that I work at.

  16. I loved All I Ever Wanted by Kristan Higgins – I think it’s her best one yet. I listened to Dogs & Goddesses by Crusie, Rich & Stuart and that was great too – Renee Raudman did a great job with the narration – including dog voices too!

Least favourite would be Aint to Proud to Beg by Susan Donovan. Okay but not great.

I’d love to win the new Larissa Ione book. *crosses fingers*

  17. My favorites last month were Secondhand Spirits and A Cast-off Coven by Juliet Blackwell – paranormals featuring a witch who runs a vintage clothing store in San Francisco. Also really liked a cute romance called A Little Light Magic, by Joy Nash. Hmm, I think this is the first month where I liked every book I read, so I don’t have a least favorite.

Can’t wait to read Sin Undone – I love that series.

  18. My favorite book was Scorched by Sharon Ashwood (actually this whole series is fabulous). Least favorite was No Chance by Christy Reece.

Would love to read Christine’s new release, Water Bound.

  20. I really enjoyed Tessa Dare’s “Twice Tempted by a Rogue” and Kris Kennedy’s “The Irish Warrior”. They both contained fun lines.

The one I didn’t like so much was Skyler White’s “and Falling, Fly”. It was a good book, but too wordy and philosophical for my mindset at the time (although I did think it would make a really awesome anime and I love the cover with the young Linda Fiorentino look-alike).

I would love “All I Ever Wanted”; I love Higgins’ books especially when they have dogs on the covers!

  21. I didn’t get to read a lot of books in July but my favorite was Married by Morning by Lisa Kleypas. Although I usually look forward to Lisa Kleypas books I wasn’t sure about this couple but their story was great.

  22. My favorite read was Married by Morning by Lisa Kleypas. My least favorite read was The Demon’s Lexicon by Sarah Rees Brennan.

I would love a copy of Sin Undone.

  23. M.

Fave: ‘The Help’ was so, so good (read for my bookclub), in romance ‘The Forbidden Rose’ by Joanna Bourne. Lurved it!

DNF: ‘What, No Roses?’ by Marianne Mancusi. I think maybe time travel is just not my cup of tea.

I’d love to read the new Higgens!

  24. Hello,

My favorite book in July was Hot Finish by Erin McCarthy. I wish is was a little longer, but I was happy to get a chance to read Ryder & Suzanne’s story. My least favorite of the month was Sharon Sala’s Blown Away. I just couldn’t get into the story. I like her Cat Dupree books, but this one fell a little short for me.

My book choice would be All I Ever Wanted by Kristan Higgins. Thanks.

  25. My favourite book in July was One More Bite by Jennifer Rardin. Probably because I had to wait so long for my local library to get it in 😀

I have Water Bound and Sin Undone on my wishlist but of the two I think I would prefer to try and win Sin Undone 😀
