Tuesday Teaser – The Forbidden Rose

Posted June 1, 2010 by Tracy in Reviews | 7 Comments

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
Today’s teaser comes from The Forbidden Rose by Joanna Bourne page 206:

With Papa, one never knew how much of what he said was slyness and how much was his small madnesses and how much was rational thought expressed in his own particular dialect.

Sometimes when she was with her father – this was one of those times – she wanted to howl like an animal and beat her fists upon the ground.

  1. Yeah, she doesn't seem real thrilled with him at the moment, does she? 🙂

That second sentence…sometimes I feel that way about my oldest child. lol

  2. Oh, great quote! And very tempting 🙂

I'm still not reading anything…trying…just not getting very far. Hopefully tonight!

  3. I think, from what I've gathered so far – since I'm halfway through the book and haven't actually met the father – that's he's a little off his rocker. I'll have to let you know! 🙂
