Publisher Spotlight: Category Romance Challenge

Posted May 4, 2010 by Holly in Features, Giveaways | 16 Comments

Because I know many of you still haven’t tried a category romance, I’d like to challenge you this month to try one. It’s a big risk, I know. Trying something new you may or may not like is a big deal. So, let’s sweeten the pot. I’m going to keep this category challenge open all month, if you manage to read one book I’ll give you a prize.

From today until May 31st, if you read a category romance and review it (either on your blog, in the comments of this post or via email to contests @ the bookbinge . com [no spaces] with Harlequin Spotlight Review in the subject line) and you’ll be entered to win a $25 gift certificate to the bookstore of your choice.

That’s right, the possibility of $25 worth of books for the price of one category romance ($1-$7). Totally worth it, right? This contest is open to everyone, even those who have already read a category can enter. But, you have to read a category this month..you can’t enter with a book you read and/or reviewed prior to this month.

Once you’ve read your book and reviewed, come back here and add your name to the Mr. Linky, along with a link to the post or comment (if you emailed just leave your name) with your review and I’ll enter your name.

Save an extra 10% on Harlequin ebook backlists. ebook only and valid till May 31.

  1. Yes, by category I mean the skinnies: Blaze, Presents, Desire, SSE, HH, HA, etc.

They can be published at any time and be by any author, just so long as they’re a category romance that you haven’t read before.

Those who haven’t read a category romance, go and find Kylie Brant’s Terms of Surrender or Terms of Attraction!
By some miracle, they were the first category romances I ever read, and they’re as good as anything published anywhere else. Or better. Since then Brant has gone on to write a trilogy of brilliant romantic suspense books.

Then there’s the eternally amazing Jill Shalvis and her books…

  3. Hello! Thanks for a fun contest. I emailed my review of “Good Girl or Gold-Digger by Kate Hardy. This book is a Harlequin Presents Extra release for May 2010.

Sheesh, normally I eat categories with a spoon, but I haven’t been able to settle down with a good one since you started this. 😉 — willaful

  5. I’ve read a few categories this month – Her Best Friend by Sarah Mayberry and His Mistress, His Terms by Trish Wylie and The Magnate’s Indecent Proposal by Ally Blake. All were enjoyable reads but I reviewed the Ally Blake story over at my blog.
    Great contest ladies. Thx!

I am emailing my review of Speed Dating by Nancy Warren; a NASCAR series by Harlequin.

I love the category books, a quick easy read…
