Kate Gentry is always the bridesmaid, never the bride. When her best friend asks her to be maid of honor, it just reminds her of how crappy her luck is when it comes to finding her own Mr. Right. Her friends point out she’s trying too hard to find Mr. Right instead of having fun with Mr. Right-Now. They convince her to put her search for the perfect man on hold and have some meaningless sex with a hot guy.

Kate takes their advice and propositions the gorgeous best man, Dawson McKenna. When he eagerly agrees, she finds herself doing things she never dreamed of doing—spanking, bondage and some amazing anal sex!

Despite knowing Dawson isn’t supposed to be Mr. Right, Kate finds herself falling for him big-time anyway. But since she was the one who made the rules, how can she now tell him she wants more than just a weekend fling?

Kate is always a bridesmaid never a bride. But right from the get-go, you kind of know why. Kate is somewhat of a perfectionist and will only give a guy the time of day if he appears to be good husband material. She thinks, why waste time on a guy with no future? When her friends confront her about this attitude on the eve of yet another wedding where Kate is the bridesmaid, Kate decides to throw that attitude out the window and just go for having a good time. Something she’s never done.

And the man her friends tell her to go for it with is Dawson McKenna. A truly delicious specimen of a man. So Kate puts the moves on Dawson right away and they hook up. The only rule is that this is for the weekend, no strings attached. Dawson is all for that (what guy wouldn’t be?) but as the weekend progresses, Kate and Dawson both begin to develop feelings for each other. And both assume that the other doesn’t feel the same way. You know what they say about assuming…

I thought Mr. Right Now was a quick fun read. Kate at first comes across as marriage crazy, but when her friends talk her into dropping the attitude, she does and she becomes a fun loving, open character. She’s no longer looking for perfection and that allows her to loosen up. And her and Dawson have a lot of fun together, even outside the bedroom. This is a short novel so fits in with the weekend of fun these two have for getting to know each other. And that’s how this ends, with an HEA for now – which I can live with and believe. I wouldn’t expect two characters to fall in love so quickly, but they can fall for each other.

Mr. Right Now gets a 4 out of 5 from me.
