This month’s author spotlight features an author that is near and dear to my (as well as everyone else, I’m sure) heart. She’s one of the first authors that I had the pleasure of reading and she’s also the author that introduced me to the romance community.
Back when I first started reading romance novels, I didn’t have very many friends to discuss these books with. My sisters weren’t all that forthcoming with discussions and they enjoyed the books but they didn’t like gush about them the way that I did so I turned to the internet to find other like minded people and I found the Julie Garwood Bulletin Board.
You know, I lied because it was Judith McNaught’s Board that I first started posting on, I think but it was the Julie Garwood fans that became my friends. They were the ones that took me in and made me feel welcome and went on to read every single Julie Garwood book because of these ladies. It was because of the JGBB that I actually met some of my very best friends. I met Holly, Grace, Daphne and Casee all on the JGBB or through the whole BB world and they have been some of my staunchest supporters through my life and I couldn’t be happier to have met them. I’ve made lasting friendships through those boards and I’m pretty hot damn lucky.
(Holly: JG was the first romance author I ever consciously read. She’s 100% responsible for my current addiction)
Julie Garwood has plenty of books that anyone could choose from and find one to love. What’s funny is that I’ve met plenty of people who loved different books for different reasons and so it’s good to see that there will be one hero for you to love out of the JG books.
Whether you’re in the mood for a nice historical or wanting to read a fast paced contemporary, Julie Garwood has a book written to fit your mood and odds are you won’t be sorry. Check out her back list:
Join us this month as we discuss our favorite and least favorite topics related to all things Julie Garwood. There will plenty to talk about so you don’t want to miss out because Julie Garwood is a favorite of ours and well, who doesn’t like to talk about sexy Highlanders and drool worthy FBI operatives?
Let the fun begin…
This is probably well off topic but…
I have loved, and still love, a number of Ms Garwood’s novels–and I hate her website with a passion that’d probably do much more better if focused elsewhere.
Looking forward to the posts!
@AL – you can’t possibly hate it more than I do. Worst web design EVER!
Love Julie Garwood! Looking forward to more discussions!
awesome! i love julie garwood! she was one of my first authors when i first started reading romance 🙂
I LOVE LOVE LOVE Julie Garwood. It totally bums me out that her books are not all released digitally. I have all of her books (some 2 or 3 copies).
Adore her medievals and regency ones, but for some reason the westerns don’t work for me. Not being mean, but just don’t really like many western books. Out of her contemporary books, the only one I’ve gone back and reread was Mercy.
Having said that though, I’ve worn out all my copies of her medievals and had to replace them. I also wish they would release them digitally.
