Moving into Broken Heart seemed like the perfect transition for Simone Sweet and her young daughter, Glory. With her ex-husband gone after attempting to murder Simone, and Glory being mute since the incident, it is one place where she can feel safe, and almost forget she’s a ravenous vampire…
With everything that went on with her husband Simone is ready to get on with her life. Simone is starting to let herself feel and finally let a man into her life and that man is Braddock “Brady” Hayes. Brady is an amazing man and is pretty much liked by all of the citizens of Broken Heart.
But Brady has a past as well and when Simone’s past and Brady’s past fall together some serious action has Broken Heart up in arms.
This is the 5th book in the Broken Heart Vampire series. I’ve only read the 4th book but really liked it. (You can read my review here.) It has action but was also very light reading. This book was very different from that. There were some humorous moments but it was a much darker book than the last. Betweens Simone & Brady’s secrets, children getting kidnapped and vampires planning on taking over the paranormal world there were times when it was almost hard to read. It was definitely not light hearted.
That being said it was a good book that did hold my attention. There was enough conflict to keep my reading further to find out what happened next. I’d say if you were looking for a light, easy read this wouldn’t do it for you but if you wanted a little more grit in the series this would be for you.
