Kris’ review of The First Sin by Cheyenne McCray.
AN ELITE PARTNERSHIP
Alexi Steele is determined, relentless, and driven to protect the innocent. She’s a top agent of the NSA’s clandestine Recovery Enforcement Division, specializing in human trafficking and sex crimes. Her current mission: To infiltrate the inner circle of Boston’s exclusive S&M clubs in order to save thirteen young women who are about to be auctioned off to the highest bidders. But Lexi’s only way in is under the “control” of her new partner in crime, Nicholas Donovan.
AN EROTIC END GAME
Nick will do whatever it takes to bring down the billionaire sex-ring mastermind who’s kidnapped his sister. But the games he must play as Lexi’s “dominant” are burning away his icy control, and blurring the lines between partners. Meanwhile, their enemies are closing in as they enter a devastating race against time…bringing them dangerously close to THE FIRST SIN.
Very intense book. There were some very graphic scenes so this book was not for the faint of heart. Good storyline, great suspense, lots of action. Characters were both very strong, and complimented each other well. Lexi was a strong personality and Nick matched her well. She was a good agent, willing to do what needed to be done even when it was degrading. She did things that I would have definitely walked out on, but she did them to save the other girls who were being sold. The sex scenes are very erotic and there were some sexual scenes that were not so nice because it was by very bad men. I loved Nick, he was a great hero. He is trying to save his sister who has been gone for 4 weeks now and he will do whatever it takes to find her. Though he hates what Lexi has to go through.
I am very interested in reading the next in this series. This series revolves around Lexi and Nick so she is always the heroine (as far as I can tell). The next full book is called The Second Betrayal and comes out in August. But there is a novella that comes out in June in the Real Men Last All Night anthology.
I give it a 4.25 out of 5.
This book is available from St. Martin’s Press. You can buy it here.

oh man!
My tbr pile keeps getting rearranged!! I don’t know where to start!! This summer: READ!
Thanks for making me kick this up my pile!
This might be a little too much for me. I’m a fan of romantic suspense but sometimes they get a little too “real” for me. Great review!
Thank you Kris. I’m not sure if this book might be a bit too much for me also, but I sure am tempted 🙂
I read this book and I loved it. I can not wait to read more of this series. I love Lexi and Nick together. I agree that some of the scenes were a bit graphic, but it was a great story line, with lots of suspense. I’m pretty sure she is always the heroine but I think that I read somewhere that the novella is about her brother.
