Lora Leigh is my book crack. She always has been. I just lurve her.

Mercury’s War is is the 16th book in Leigh’s Breed series. This is by far my favorite of all her series. I started reading them when she was still writing for Ellora’s Cave.

Who else reads this series and is looking forward to this book? What’s been your favorite Breed book so far? What Breed book do you want to see next?

  1. Casee, I loves me some Breeds too. Oh how I loves me some Breeds! And you’re right, they are book crack.

Having said that, however, I think there have been two clunkers– The Breed Next Door (totally watered down), and the last one- Dawn’s Awakening– I actually laughed in parts that weren’t supposed to be funny and got creeped out during scenes that were supposed to be romantic.

But, I’m hoping she’s back on track with Mercury’s War.

Let’s see, my fave? Probably a toss up between the first one, Tempting the Beast, and Elizabeth’s Wolf.

But I’m hoping my absolute favorite hasn’t even been written yet– Jonas’ story. Oh, how I want to see him brought to his knees! From what I understand, LL had his story all ready to be written and that damn Jonas decided that the female wasn’t his mate afterall.

And I want to see the Winged Breeds again!

I’m definitely looking forward to Mercury’s War. Not so sure about next year’s title, Coyote’s Mate. but that’s because I keep hoping for Jonas’ book. Although his book will have to be 3x larger than all the previous ones due to everyone who wants to be present when his fate comes along.

I’d also like to see a book about the breed doctor, there’s someone who has even more secrets than Jonas.

My favorite so far has been Megan’s Mark, but all the others are close. I do prefer the more recent stories over the older Ellora’s Cave ones.

I enjoy the world that Ms Leigh has created and, especially the characters! But I sure can’t imagine how she’s going to solve the mates age very slowly problem. I’ll just have to keep reading to find out and be surprised.

I think my fave so far is Elizabeth’s Wolf. I am looking forward to Jonas’ story too because I, too, want to see him brought to his knees. I am anxiously awaiting to read Mercury’s War.

  4. Definitely looking forward to this book.

I started reading them too, when they were still only with EC.

I’m not sure if I have a favorite. I’ve enjoyed them all and am just happy to see another person get a story.

  5. Lora Leigh…I love her writing like a fat kid loves chocolate! Since I am a fat kid, well…

I adore her Breeds, but I am passionate about all of her books. I’m not sure I can pick a favorite Breed book…though there have been one or two that seemed a bit forced. She seems to have so many projects going at the same time that I can’t complain about a few books that don’t make my toes curl.

If you held a gun to my head, I’d probably choose Elizabeth’s Wolf and Harmony’s Way as my favorites thus far, but truly…each has been delightful.

  6. Yup, am following this series now that it’s easier to find at the local bookstore. Dawn’s Awakening and Elizabeth’s Wolf are favs, and am definitely looking forward to Cassie’s or Jonas’ story, if I’m remembering the names right. But any Lora Leigh title is sure to be a great (hot!) read 🙂

  7. Bev,

I want Jonas’ story, too. Has LL said anything about when and/or who? At first I wondered if the doctor could be his mate, but now I wonder.

    Elizabeth,

That’s so funny b/c Megan’s Mark is my least favorite. LOL

    Tabitha,

I think my favorite is Elizabeth’s Wolf, too. I’ve re-read almost all the EC Breed books and my favorite always seems to change. LOL

    MsValerie,

I really liked Harmony’s Way, too. I’m always interested in seeing how she’ll write a human hero w/ a Breed heroine. I think she did a fantastic job w/ Harmony and Lance.

    annmarie-a,

I liked it, too. I thought it was one of the best Breed books since she left EC.

I just started the series…read Tempting the Beast and The Man Within. LOVED them!!! I’m excited to hear that Elizabeth’s Wolf is a favorite for many. I get to read it in a couple of days! Since I’ve only read two, can’t say I have a favorite…loved them both.

  9. my first breed book was Harmony’s Way and I loved it. I had to have more after reading that one. In Australia you can’t get any but that one on the shelves in stores so I looked online and found on e-bay the set of berkley breed books. then found the other e/c books which I’ve read tempting the beast, man within and kiss of heat. I haven’t read the coyote or wolf breeds yet. I read on google books parts of elizabeth’s wolf. I liked what i read. I can’t wait the 10 days that i have to for Mercury’s war. I pre-ordered it so as not to miss out. Like everyone here my favourite I think will be Jonas’s story. He is actually my favourite character of all the breeds. I like them all but Jonas has that mysteriousness about him with more to him than people realise as well as the alpha male stuff going for him. I feel there is also a story behind Dr Elyiana as well. I guess more of her comes out in each story.

Yup, I read them. 16 books! Wow! I didn’t know there were so many. I should, I have them all.

My favorite is Elizabeth’s Wolf. Really though, I think her EC BReed books are way better than any of the ones she has released right to print with Berkley. Not saying that the Berkley ones are bad–just that the EC ones are better.

She is one of my favorite authors, but I really believe she is one of the ones who wrote better as an e-only author.
