Since we started this crazy busy Holly lost her damn mind thing Shomi Spotlight, I’ve been telling you about all the Shomi books I want to read (with still more to come). Well, ok, to be fair I want to read them all, but that’s not really the point. The point is I’ve been showing you mine, but you haven’t shown me yours. What do I mean by that? I mean it’s time for you to tell me which SHOMI novels you’ve read or want to read.
A lot of you were asking what exactly Shomi means. I asked the publisher and the response I got was that it sounded like “Show Me” and something Manga inspired (which also fits into the idea behind the line). That sounds about like the perfect way to have a major contest.
Here’s what you have to do: Leave a comment, or post on your own blog and Shomi a link, telling me what Shomi novels you’ve read or are interested in reading before midnight, Saturday August 30th and you’ll be entered to win a major Shomi Prize package.
Da Rules:
1) Pimp this contest on your blog/website/Twitter and leave a link telling me you’ve done so
2) Leave a comment here, or post on your own blog/website, telling me what Shomi novels you have read or want to read in the future and why (bonus points if it’s b/c of this spotlight)
3) Contest ends Saturday, August 30th at midnight
Da Prizes:
Ah yes, the most important part! Let’s see..what can you win? How about….
7 Shomi Books. Yes, that’s right, I said 7:
Sound like something you might be interested in? Enter today!
ETA: Contest is open to US and Canadian residents only.
ETA #2: Contest is open to all readers, internationally as well as in the US and Canada.
I would love to purchase/read/review any of the Shomi books because you always leave such wonderful reviews of them but alas our bookstores and libraries here are so poorly stocked. Sigh. Thank God for ebooks at least.
Good luck to the contestants!
i would love to read all the rest of these that I haven’t read yet.
This is a great contest! Thanks for organizing it.
My blog entry is here.

Countdown is one of the books that I have been wanting to read. Also, read your spotlight on Kay Austin’s Time Transit and it sounds compelling, too. I guess that is why the Shomi books appeal to me, they sound so action-packed, and pulse-poundingly suspenseful.
I’ve read DRIVEN (just this weekend!) and Sybs is supposed to give me Razor Girl.
I pretty much want to read all of them (because of this spotlight) because I like reading new lines – it seems like publishers open with some great stuff, plus this line hits all my buttons . . . a bit of manga flair, SF, yeah, yeah, yeah.

I have Driven somewhere around here *searching pile of books* ugh, I will be better organized one day, lol
I’m really going to have to get Razor Girl… it started with the title (c’mon, Razor Girl, how interesting)… then the blurb sounded so interesting and different (razor tipped nails and other changes, wow!)… then when I read the excerpt here on Book Binge… dang it, I’ve moved it to the top of my tbb list *bg*
gee, thanks for this spotlight… I’ve added more books to my list, lol
I’ve pimped this on Twitter, too… just joined earlier today *g*
(taking self out of draw – hee!)
i’ll post on my blog –
personally, will read the two Eve Kenin books and Michelle Maddox’s ‘Countdown’ for sure
the others all sound interesting though and would do the first page test at least for all
I linked to your contest on my blog and wrote a blog entry about SHOMI books and which ones I’ve read and want to read and why. AWESOME contest! I LOVE SHOMI BOOKS! 🙂
I pimped you and your contest. This reminds me I have Kenin’s Driven and need to read it.
Good luck to all the other pimpers!

So far I’ve read Twist, Countdown and Hidden and loved all three. I really want to read Netherwood and Moongazer and heck, all the Shomi books! 🙂
I have never read any of these books, but have heard many good things about them. Most of my books I pick because of word of mouth . Let me tell you I have heard a mouthful about these books. Enter me please.
I like cowboys, brides and babies. How in the heck did I wind up a Shomi fan?!?!
I’ve read Driven, Hidden, Countdown and Moongazer.
I posted it here http://natashasnews.vox.com/library/post/contest-alert—you-win-you-have-to-share-with-me.html and on my Twitter http://twitter.com/natashaw1
I haven’t read any of them yet…but Netherwood should be in the mail! 😀
I just received Hidden and Driven from Amazon, and yes one of the reasons I decided too get them know was because of the info on the blog here. Netherwood and Moongazer, also interest me.
I just pimped your awesome Shomi contest 😀

I’ve read Hidden and Countdown, both of which are fab and really made me enthusiastic about this imprint 🙂
Have a lovely day! 🙂
Loved Eve Kenin’s Driven and Hidden, and now have Netherwood and Wired in the TBR, and want the rest, especially Kay Austin’s time travel. I like this line because it’s a great mix of sci-fi, urban fantasy and paranormal. Don’t have a blog, but Kenin’s high recommend on my two reader groups.
I posted about this here:

And looking through the reviews I must pick up some of the Shomi line.
(I found you through LesleyW, so I guess the contest pimping is working!)
I just posted about the contest. I have read DRIVEN, WIRED, and MOONGAZER, and loved all three. So far, I have yet to meet a SHOMI book I didn’t want to read, but I think the one at the top of my priority list is PHENOMENAL GIRL 5.
Don’t enter me! But I’ll post a link to this awesome contest on my blog.
I have not read any of them, but I would really love to try some out!
I received an autographed copy of Driven by Eve and have a copy of Hidden but haven’t read that one yet. I’m so looking forward to reading and getting my hands on Countdown. Thanks for the wonderful opportunity at all these books! tWarner419@aol.com
I haven’t read any of them, but Nicole’s read and reviewed a couple and I am intrigued.
I have a copy of Countdown in my TBR but haven’t read it yet. I’m looking forward to reading Hidden and Moongazer. Why? I’ve heard a lot of good things & then found this wonderful contest here so I know I really need to check them out soon.

I would love to read these thanks to your blog. I haven’t read any so far, but have heard good things.

I haven’t read any of these, but you make me want to, and as I said here, it’s on you if my thesis doesn’t get written 😉
I recently learned about Shomi books when I attended a blog party and won a copy of Eve Kenin’s “Hidden” a short while back. Since then I’ve had my eye on this series and have wanted to read all the titles you have listed here. And BTW, I blogged about your contest at http://ladyvampire2u.blogspot.com/2008/08/book-binge-wants-you-to-shomi-yours.html
Yay, contest! I posted/pimped here.
I’ve pimped the contest and blogged about the books I want to read over on my blog.
From the 7 you have up, I’ve only read Time Transit and Moongazer. I’ve also read Driven by Eve Kenin. As for what I want to read next, well I think all of the SHOMI books that I haven’t read are on my wishlist. But the one I’m looking forward to most is Phenomenal Girl 5 by A.J. Menden.
I’ve also left a link of this at my blog. It’s off to the side.
Thanks!
~ Popin
I finished DRIVEN by Eve Kenin last night on Holly’s SHOMI recommendation. I loved it!!! I’m excited to try the rest of the line (especially HIDDEN since the first one was so good). Thank you Holly for the great book pimpage! You’ve seduced another fan. Here is the link to my SHOMI contest blog post.
I have read Driven and Hidden by Eve Kenin and loved them. Would definitely love to try some more Shomi books.

Wow, great contest! The spotlight is totally working – I haven’t read any of Shomi books yet, but some were added to my TBR list because of you guys. Countdown, Twist, and Hidden are the ones that jump out at me at the moment.
Ignore this as an entry – have added a mention/link to my sidebar.
Great contest! They all look great. Hidden stands out.
