Books and dads

So with Father’s Day coming up, it got me to wondering…does your significant other/boyfriend/husband read?

My husband has read the Left Behind series, but he only got to the 6th book before he called it a day. It also would take him about a month to read one of the books. Not that he didn’t like the books or didn’t have the time, but his concentration would go out the window after about 20 minutes.

The only reading material I’d get for my husband this Father’s Day is a subscription to Maxim magazine or Golf Digest.

What about you? Does the man in your life enjoy reading? Would he ever read a romance?

  1. Yes, my s.o. is a voracious reader–and he’s let me introduce him to romance. He’s a big Suzanne Brockmann and Nora Roberts fan.

  2. I buy books for the SO and for my Dad, just not a lot as neither are huge readers. The SO got the baseball book about Bonds and the steroid investigation. Dad got the biography of Jerry Lewis. It was soooo good. What was cool was that book was read by about six different people.

I usually do that for Christmas. Father’s Day my SO will be here, and my Dad will be just getting home from a week in Vegas. Stinkerbutt. LOL

  3. I don’t have any SO, but my dad reads a lot. Only problem is that he reads kung fu story novels which are super expensive and very hard to find in Montreal… sigh.

  4. My hubby likes to read but he reads ministry related stuff or fantasy. His all time fav book is the Lord of the Rings, he reads it about once a year.
He does not read romance, the closest he get is reading my blog. and Then rolls his eyes at me.

  5. My hubby doesn’t read unless he absolutely has to – it’s so sad. His boss usually has him read about 2 books a year – again, so sad. I would have pay him a huge sum of money to get him to read a romance which of course he just considers chick porn. *sigh*

My dad WAS a voracious reader but then had cataract surgery on both eyes and then 2 corneal transplants so it’s hard for him to see the print. I need to find super large print books for him!

My DH is a big reader (but very slow!) and reads a lot of political intrigue. Clancy, Cussler, Baldacci, etc.

He also loves to read non-fiction political books, which I also read, too. And he reads non-fiction books about our political history as well…
