Mini Review: In and Out by LB Gregg

Today is the release of LB Gregg‘s fourth book in the Men of Smithfield series and it’s a wonderful book. We’ve got Holden who used to be an adventurer and television celebrity who is now agoraphobic and really pretty lonely. Then there’s Adam who is Holden’s new nubile gardener that Holden can’t stop staring at. There’s the dead body behind the shed and there’s the whole cast of characters that are involved. While the mystery is being solved of who the dead man is and of course who killed the guy, Holden and Adam are starting a relationship.
I have to tell ya, I loved this book. The mystery is great, the dialogue is witty and engaging and the characters are well developed. But the thing that I loved most was Adam and Holden’s relationship. Holden with his doubts about his age (he’s 40 to Adam’s 24), Adam with his literalness (he doesn’t pick up on verbal or facial cues) and the two of them together finding a middle ground was just something to behold.
He was the out to my in and the rough to my smooth. He balanced me, he comforted me, he unleashed the mean and the man in me.
Oh man it gives me the chills! I think this is my favorite MoS book…and that’s saying something since I loved Happy Ending so very much. Gregg has definitely hit a home run on this one.
