Katie Porter‘s latest Vegas Top Guns release, Bare Knuckle, is out now! To celebrate, we’re giving a copy away!
Redeeming Bad Boys
by Katie Porter
Capt. Eric “Kisser” Donaghue has not been the nicest of our fighting pilots in “Vegas Top Guns,” our debut Katie Porter series. In Bare Knuckle, we had the challenge of redeeming a guy who hit on Jon’s girlfriend Heather in Inside Bet—the two men nearly came to blows—and who generally drank, chased women, and revealed a keen appreciation for hardcore boxing. Raised in a bad part of Detroit, making it into the Air Force, and more impressively as a piloting instructor, is the most important thing he’s ever done.
That’s where we started. A guy has to be pretty damn determined to make it from Detroit to the best of the best at Nellis Air Force base outside of Las Vegas. Vices aside, he had to have something worthwhile inside him to make all the sacrifices such a journey would demand.
Oh, and then at the end of book four in the series, Hard Way, he survives a plane crash. Scarred, tortured hero!
To say the least, the crash changed his perspective on life. He didn’t become all hearts and flowers. Just the opposite to start. He has a fatalistic streak a mile wide, but it redoubled his devotion to his brother, who’s undergoing intensive drug rehabilitation. He also develops a grudging respect for Capt. Leah “Princess” Girardi, the heroine of book three, Hold ’Em, when she’s promoted to squadron leader.
Still…surviving and becoming less of a misogynist ass doesn’t make for a happy ending. We needed to bring him all the way to the side of great romance heroes by giving him a solid kick in the pants. That kick comes in the form of fabulous stilettoes at the end of showgirl Trish Monroe’s long, gorgeous legs. If a man can’t become a hero for the woman destined to be the love of his life, he doesn’t belong in a romance novel.
Lucky for Kisser, he becomes just the hero Trish needs—and the perfect hero to top off the last of our “Vegas Top Guns” series. Enjoy!
We’d like to give away a copy of BARE KNUCKLE in any digital format. Just answer the question: What is the eternal appeal of the redeemed hero?

About the book:
After a near-fatal plane crash, fighter pilot Captain Eric “Kisser” Donaghue is a changed man. By day he labors to regain
his confidence in the cockpit. By night he moonlights as an off-Strip boxer, fighting for prize money to pay for his younger brother’s third stint in rehab.
In the ring, no one cares he once had a face that launched a thousand one-night stands—and neither does Eric. He’s only there to win. Yet he can’t take his eyes off the new ring girl, a glitz-meets-pageant-queen vision of blonde perfection.
Down on her luck but not quite out, Vegas showgirl Trish Monroe lives for the spotlight. The scarred, steely-eyed loner who stares at her from his corner of the ring gives Trish an extra reason to strut her stuff.
Curiosity and the temptation of a no-strings good time bring them together. The discovery of their secret fetishes—she likes to show off, he likes to watch—turns mere sexual chemistry into a fiery exploration of matched passions. They’re a natural fit. Trust in love, however, is harder to earn than trust in bed, especially when this beauty and beast hide even from themselves.
Warning: This book contains a Sin City-style Beauty and the Beast love story, lots of naughty pics and vids, adrenaline-pumped base jumping, and a set of very important note cards. Oh, and as always, an incredibly hot fighter pilot.
