Dirk lives in the shadows—performing hits, maintaining order, and upholding the no-holds-barred legacy of the Sinner’s Creed Motorcycle Club. A nomad with a restless spirit and a cold heart, the open road is his world. One of the few constants in his life: his desire for the one woman who has consumed his thoughts for years.
Saylor Samson grew up far from the harshness of Dirk’s world. But ever since she was seventeen she’s been drawn to this dark and mysterious man who always seemed to show up just when she needed him.
After years of fated encounters, he’s back. This time he’s taking her. This time she’s ready for the ride. But just when the darkness in Dirk’s life begins to fade, Saylor reveals a secret that puts them both to the ultimate test. Now, Dirk has to make a decision: submit to his destiny with the MC, or choose his own.
Dirk is a hit man for the Sinner’s Creed Motorcycle Club. He’s a nomad and likes being on his own. He Has been running into the same girl time and again for the last five years and he finally decides that it’s time to actually meet her in person. His friend who is the computer wizard for the MC finds out where she lives and he goes to her. Immediately the two are connected and Dirk knows that Saylor Samson is a one of a kind woman. He takes her with him the next time he leaves but she doesn’t know what he does. She seems happy none-the-less. The closer the pair become the more Dirk knows that he needs Saylor in his life. It’s not a desire, it’s a need…like air. The woman that Dirk has fallen in love with showed him what love is. Unfortunately, Saylor comes clean with a secret she’s been keeping and it turns Dirk’s world on end. He’s not sure he can handle what’s coming but he knows he’ll do anything to keep Saylor by his side.
When I picked up Sinner’s Creed I expected a typical MC book and that was ok with me because I love them. What I got was a dark, angsty, emotional, heart-breaking tale of two people who are total opposites who found each other in spite of all the things going on in their lives. There were definitely lighter moments thrown in the story from time to time but it doesn’t end on a high note.
Dirk is one tough son-of-a-bitch. He considers himself a monster but the MC is the only family he’s ever known and he will literally do anything they ask of him. He fears for Saylor when they find out about her but she is welcomed. She changes Dirk but only for the better. He finally discovers what love truly is and it was a moving revelation. He was an ass at times but at other times he just made me laugh. He loved Saylor so much and would do anything to make her happy – I seriously loved that about him.
Saylor was a woman who loved life. She could find the good in just about everyone and had an amazing way of bringing out the good in people. She loved Dirk despite what he did for a living and embraced all that he was. It’s takes a strong woman to do that, especially knowing what his specialty with the club was.
The one really large issue I had with this story was the lack of info on Saylor. By the end of the book I virtually knew nothing about her life before she met Dirk. We knew how wonderful she was and she could almost stand on a street corner and make hundreds of friends but yet she only had two that she truly cared about. We knew nothing about her other than her mother died and what she died of. Where was her father? How did she grow up? Why does she have money yet she doesn’t work or go to school? As much as I loved her it bothered me that I didn’t know anything about her. I knew almost everything about Dirk by the end of the book but Saylor was a huge mystery to me.
The love story took a completely different turn about ¾ of the way through the book. I was not happy with where the story was headed but the Kim Jones’s writing kept me glued to the page and I couldn’t put the damned thing down. I don’t want to give away anything about the story as it needs to be read to be appreciated but when I say be prepared to cry during the book I’m serious as a heart attack. I was crying like a baby by the time I finished this book. I hated the end but I loved it as well if that makes any sense.
Editor’s Note: Warning: The publisher has listed this as not having a “traditional” HEA. For the curious, I’ve spoiled the ending below. BEWARE.

If you like your MC books to have beautiful romances but still be dark, gritty and heart-wrenching then this one’s for you.
