Updated Yet Again: Still Working On It – And More Feedback, Please!

Sorry all, I know things are moving pretty slow around here, but I promise we’re working on it. If you don’t mind, I need your help once again.

Can you please let me know how the site is loading for you and what internet browser you’re currently using? Leave a comment here or email us at admin @ thebookbinge .com(no spaces)if it doesn’t load for you.

If we don’t have things hammered out today we’re going back to our .blogspot URL for the time being.

ETA: For now we’ve gone back to our .blogspot address (thebookbinge.blogspot.com) while we work out the kinks. The site is loading fine now and there shouldn’t be anymore issues. Thank again for all your support.

*ETA: Rowena, here to find out how the blog is loading with everyone. Please keep the updates coming in as I think we may have found the bug that was kicking our asses this week. I’m hoping that we did anyway so if you guys could keep us updated on how things are loading for you guys around here, we’d really appreciate it!

RSS Feed Issues

It has just come to my attention that the feed settings for the site are messed up. I think it stopped working on Sunday. Sorry for any confusion this may have caused. I’m working diligently to get it back up and running.

Can you please let me know if you’re receiving posts through your feed reader?

I’ll let you know when it’s fixed.

Need A Little Help: Some Feedback Please

I’m not sure how many of you noticed, but a couple weeks ago we switched from a .blogspot domain name (thebookbinge.blogspot.com) to a custom domain (www.book-binge.com). I actually purchased www.book-binge.com back in February, but due to some issues with Google/Blogger we didn’t start using it until a short time ago.

Yesterday, Blogger and Google were having issues and the site when down, so we reverted to our .blogspot address (sorry for any confusion this caused you, btw), but now we have a dilemma.

www.book-binge.com was only supposed to be a temporary address. The one we really want is bookbinge.com, but unfortunately it’s not available. So now we’re stuck. We can’t decide which domain we like better for our primary one. Care to help us out?

Right now, and all this time, we’ve been thebookbinge.blogspot. But when we started the site, we didn’t intend to be THE Book Binge, just Book Binge. I have a feeling most people think of us as THE, however. Yes? No?

Anyway, here are our options:

1) thebookbinge.com
2) bookbinge.net
3) thebookbinge.blogspot.com
4) book-binge.com

What do you think? Yes, we realize this is a behind-the-scenes decision, but the truth is we’re having a hard time deciding.

Some Feedback Please

We’ve been trying to get things more organized around here and we’re curious about your thoughts.

With the new “scheduling” feature for blogger, I think we’ve managed to alleviate a lot of the “dead” time we had on the blog, but I wonder if we’re posting too much? We try for at least two reviews a day (sometimes three) and then at least one random non-review post. Is this working for you? Loving it, hating it, don’t care one way or the other? Have any other suggestions?

On weekends (or whenever) I try to post newsletters or sale flyers (flyer’s? Fliers? You get what I mean, right?) I receive from various publishers/book sellers. It’s a huge pain in the arse, though, because I’m html stupid and can’t ever figure out how to code them properly so they aren’t cut off at the bottom, or too wide for the screen. How do you feel about the posts in general? Do you like that I post them? Or would you prefer that I don’t? I’ll spend the extra time making sure they look right on the site if y’all like that I post them. If not I’m just going to give it up….

We’re thinking about starting a new series of posts about eBooks and eReaders. Perhaps to spotlight the various Readers that are available and the pros and cons of buying in print vs. e-format. Is that something you think you’d be interested in? It wouldn’t be something we’d do on a set schedule, but maybe a post a week? Or maybe even a post a month? Personally I think e-technology is fascinating, but I know not everyone shares my passion for it. We wouldn’t want to bore you all. 😛
