Last year, historical romance author Tessa Dare made this EPIC book video. Seriously, it’s EPIC. I’m not usually a fan of book videos, but I wanted to marry this one and possibly have babies with it loved this one. Don’t believe me? Well, see for yourself:
Wasn’t that EPIC?
Tessa has donated one of these fabulous videos to Operation Auction. You, too, could have an EPIC book video made for your book. Worried that Tessa won’t be able to do one unless it’s for a historical romance? There’s no need. The Dareling bedroom has stuff for all genres:
If you win this video, we’ll post it here on our site for all our readers to see. If you don’t think we’re cool enough, so will Dear Author, Smart Bitches and a host of other sites (Tessa is putting a list together). So you get an EPIC book video AND free publicity. Pretty killer, right?
What are you waiting for? Go forth and bid!
Oh, hell, as long as I have you here I might as well remind you to bid on our auction, too! We donated 6 months worth of ad space. We don’t normally run ads, but we’re making an exception for charity. This means you’ll have exclusive promo!
Not interested in advertising? Don’t worry, there are a ton of other items up for auction, too. Books, ARCs, swag…go check it out, it’s for a really great cause.
Tomorrow ([tonight?] Sunday, 3/27) at midnight the auctions for Fatin will go live on eBay. We’re donating 6 months worth of ad space here on the site (design not included – mostly because we’re helpless about that kind of thing) and a signed copy of Nowhere to Run by Suzanne Brockmann (international shipping included). I’m not sure when the Brockmann auction will take place, but the ad space is set to be included in day one listings.
If you haven’t already, make sure you go to the Operation Auction website to check out what items have been donated so you know what’s available to bid on. There are some really amazing things there. Here’s the information about the auctions from the OA site:
None of the items will show up until the auction is live and not all items are going up at the same time. We have divided the items as equally as possible into three batches.
Batch One will be up March 27th at 12:01 am PDT, ending March 30th at 12:01am
Batch Two will be up March 28th at 12:01 am PDT, ending March 31st at 12:01am
Batch Three will be up March 29th at 12:01 am PDT, ending April 1st at 12:01am
All listings will run for three days. The only exception is the breakfast at RT with Angela James, Jane Litte, and Sarah Wendell. Because that event is approaching very soon, it will be in batch one and be a one-day auction only.
We are going to try our best to get lists up of what items are in which batch, but with new donations still coming in I’m not sure everything will be included. There will be categories in the store to help you find the items you want.
Shipping details will be in the description of each item. Please read those carefully before you bid to see if it is US only or international.
Many in the romance community know Fatin. She runs the website RR&H Novel Thoughts & Book Talk, is an author assistant and is well known on Twitter as @mad4rombks. I’ve gotten to know her over the last few years and have found her to be warm and funny. She’s a strong supporter of the romance community.
On March 8th, in a senseless act of violence, her husband was murdered. She’s now left to raise 4 children on her own. As Fatin has supported the romance community, we are now coming together to support her. During the last week in March, Operation Auction will be holding auctions on e-Bay. All proceeds will go to Fatin and her family.
The response already has been amazing. If you’re an author/editor/agent/reader/etc and you would like to contribute, please email the site administrators. And please, think about bidding. It’s for such a good cause.
