Abby Strickland has always had crush on Richard Braddock, her best friend’s father … her father’s best friend. With Richard’s divorce six years before, that crush turned to longing, longing to love. If only Richard knew. At Melanie Braddock’s wedding, Abby decides it’s time to get this out of her system. No matter how forbidden, Abby knows she’ll regret it more if she never tries … Richard Braddock hasn’t seen Abby Strickland in six years, and he blesses the distance those years have given him. Not only can he see the beauty in the woman she’s become, he can also fully appreciate it … and want her more than he’s ever wanted a woman. And while Richard knows he risks the wrath of their families if he acts on his feelings, he also knows he cannot resist a taste of forbidden fruit this sweet.
I have this addicting bad habit of going to Fictionwise and browsing through the erotica books. I always end up buying something. I usually only do it when I’m bored at work, I’m in a reading slump, or nothing just catches my eye. Forbidden Fruit caught my eye and it was just what I needed.
Abby Strickland has decided that she’s going to make a move on Richard Braddock. Even though he’s her best friend’s dad and as old has her dad, Abby doesn’t care. For as long as she remembers, she’s had a crush on Richard. Though she hasn’t seen him in six years, her feelings haven’t changed much. She decides that she would rather make a move and get rejected than wonder “what if” the rest of her life.
Richard Braddock is shocked when he first sees Abby. Not only has she turned into a beautiful woman, but he’s attracted to someone that is his daughter’s age. He is even more shocked when Abby tells him how she feels and what she wants from him.
This was a short, quick read. I really enjoyed Abby and Richard. After admitting that what they could have with each other was more than a fling, they have to figure out how to tell their families. Richard is Abby’s dad’s best friend. If that doesn’t make things awkward, I don’t know what would.
Being as short as it was, there was a little too much going on for my taste. Not only do they have to deal with telling their families that they’re together, but there’s Richard’s stalker, his crazy-ass ex-wife and some creep that Abby dated once in college. So it was a little too jam packed. Still good though.
And the sex was hawt.
