BBAW Day 2: Blogger Interviews.

Posted September 13, 2011 by Rowena in Discussions, Features | 5 Comments

Like with everything in my life, I was late to the party with the whole BBAW thing so I didn’t set up any blogger interviews to post nor did I set anything to get interviewed anyone else so instead, I’m going to post a round up of blogger interviews around blogland that I read and enjoyed.

It’s always nice to read more about the bloggers you know from the books they read. I really do enjoy reading a lot of the interviews, getting that inside look into my favorite blogger’s. So let’s see what I’ve seen around blogland today.

Alex over at A Girl, Books and Other Things did a nifty interview swap with Kristen from Beneath Shining Stars, I Read that’s good for a read. Kristen’s blog is a new to me blog so thanks bunches to Alex for introducing me to another book blogger, I look forward to stalking Kristen’s blog which (is definitely a handful to say) looks like a great blog. She’s got to have good tastes in books since she’s looking forward to Lola and the Boy Next Door and she loved Anna and the French Kiss, total win!

Melody from Melody’s Reading Corner did an interview swap with Julia from Julia’s Book Corner that was great to read as well. It’s always nice to find out what happened to each book blogger that made them want to start their blogs. I’m nosy so of course I’m all about those stories.

The lovely Fiction Vixen did an interview swap with Damaris from Good Choice Reading which was another great interview. Damaris was spot on with her answer to what it’s like being on a collaborative blog. Having teammates really takes the load off your shoulders and doesn’t bog you down with the enormous job of keeping a blog afloat on your own. Lately, I find that if I’m not into a book, I’ll stick it on my DNF shelf and move on. Like Sophia, I wasn’t always like that. It’s neat to see that there are so many other people that have the same reading quirks as me.

There are so many other blogging peeps out there being interviewed so make your blog hops rounds because you’re missing out if you’re not reading all of this blogging goodness. I’d be here all day linking to my favorite blog interviews but I’ll leave you with just a taste. =)

Happy blog hopping!

..and that’s your scoop!

ARC Tours- Tweet Heart by Elizabeth Rudnick.

Posted June 30, 2010 by Rowena in Reviews | 2 Comments

Holly over at Good Golly Miss Holly is setting up an ARC Tour for Tweet Heart by Elizabeth Rudnick and this book looks like it’d be too cute for words. I signed up but she needs a couple more people to sign up so go on forth and sign up for this awesome book tour!

Check out the blurb:

Claire is a #hopelessromantic. Lottie is determined to set up her BFF with Mr. Perfect. Will wants his #secretcrush to finally notice him. Bennett is a man with a plan.

Claire can’t believe it when her dream guy starts following her on Twitter. She never thought he noticed her, and suddenly he seems to understand her better than almost anyone.

But the Twitterverse can be a confusing place, especially when friends act differently online than they do in person. Things get even more complicated when Claire realizes she’s falling for someone else, the last person she ever would have expected….

Woo hoo, sounds like a whole lot of drama that I’m just nosy enough to want to be apart of, haha. Even if it’s vicariously. So yeah, if you want to sign up for the Tweet Heart ARC Tour, click here.

There are also some other ARC Tours that Holly’s got in the hopper so if you’re interested, check her blog out for more details.

Happy reading!

Bloggiesta…My Results.

Posted June 14, 2010 by Rowena in | 2 Comments

Over the weekend, I participated in my first Bloggiesta and it was so much fun! Yesterday, I was an epic fail at finishing my Bloggiesta list but I’m not too mad about it since I got a lot of the things that I wanted to do out of the way.

Here’s my list of things I planned to do:

  • Write reviews.
  • Write back up posts for a rainy day.
  • Put out invitations for guest blogs/posts.
  • Clean up tags, archives, books reviewed, etc.
  • Add or edit your about me page, review policy, disclosure policy, privacy policy, create landing pages (for example – an about me for Twitter readers page) or any other pages you might have.
  • Make sure all of your social network profiles are up to date. Brand yourself through those profiles with color scheme, images, etc.
  • Visit the Blogging Tips group on the Book Blogs Ning and find ways to improve your blog.
  • Work on any specialized projects that you may have going.
  • Make business cards.
  • Update TBS spreadsheet.
  • Post partial reviews on Barnes and Noble, Amazon, Good Reads and Shelfari for all reviews.
  • ETA: Get TBS signed up for more directories.
  • ETA: Comment on more blogs.
  • ETA: Update Blogroll.

My thoughts on how I did:

  • As far as reviews go, I’m up to date on all of the reviews that I needed to write and I started up posts for reviews that I’d like to write on this blog so I’m happy about that.
  • I cleaned up all the tags and labels so I was pretty darn happy about that as well because it was a pain.
  • I updated my Twitter, my Good Reads and Facebook accounts which was another pain in my butt but it’s done so woo hoo!
  • I read through the Blogging Tips page on the Ning page and it had a lot of ideas and great advice. I even made notes and saved them for future references. This makes me happy.
  • I made business cards for both this blog and my Book Binge blog and then I signed up for different blog directories, posted partial reviews on B&N, Good Reads and Shelfari. I tried posting reviews on Amazon but it kept stuffing up so I gave up on that. I’ll get back to it eventually, everywhere else…I’m all reviewed up.
  • My biggest accomplishment over the weekend was commenting on blogs. I was very happy with the amount of blogs that I visited and the new to me blogs that I found thanks to Bloggiesta. There were amazing blogs that I’ve been missing out on so thanks to Natasha over at Maw’s Books for hosting this wonderful blogging event because it got me out there and finding new blogs.

Overall, I’m thinking that my first Bloggiesta was a total hit and I can’t wait to participate in the next one. It was a great way to spend the weekend!

I spent a total hours of 19 hours on Bloggiesta. Good stuff!

How did everyone else do?
