Google Play Books Series Rating: Firefighter Aidan Donnelly has always battled the flames with trademark icy calm. That is, until a blazing old flame returns—in the shape of sizzling soap star Mackenzie Stafford! Aidan wants to pour water over the unquenchable heat between them. But that just creates more steam….
Kenzie is not the delicate, fragile female she looks like. She has one clear objective, and nothing will stand in the way of her goal—well, nothing but the red-hot touch of a certain dangerously sexy fireman, that is!
I have a guest review for Flashback (American Heroes: The Firefighters Book 2) by Jill Shalvis up at The Good, The Bad and The Unread.
First things first: That cover? Totally hot. Yummy fireman. Mmmm. Ok, moving on. I read this book before I read the first one in the series, Flashpoint. I have to tell you…I was very disappointed in this the first time around. My major issues stemmed from the plot and the way things progressed after the way the first book in the series left off. I decided to read the first before deciding for sure on this one and I’m glad I held off. The actions of the characters and overall story arc worked much better having read the first and understanding where all the motives of the characters. I highly recommend you read these in order.
Check out my review of Flashpoint, too.

Don’t forget, Jill Shalvis will be here later today talking about being a writer, what she’s got in store for us next and cookies…don’t miss it!

Google Play Books Series Rating: Zach Thomas risks his life battling flames every day. But since sexy EMT Brooke O'Brian joined the crew, he can't resist playing with fire. Brooke is feisty, a little uptight…and sexy as hell. And as Zach soon discovers, she's definitely hot stuff between the sheets. Still, every firefighter knows that the hotter the blaze, the faster the action's over….
After the whirlwind ride Zach's been taking her on, Brooke is ready to do anything for this man-in and out of bed! But she knows footloose and fancy-free Zach doesn't do commitment. So she plans to build up a five-alarm fire between them. The kind he won't ever want to put out…
I have a guest review up at TGTBTU for Flashpoint by Jill Shalvis, American Heroes: The Firefighters, Book 1.
I have to be honest and admit the only reason I wanted to read this book is because of the cover. It’s hot. Seriously hot. After I read the back blurb I was a little bit leery, because it’s about a firefighter and an EMT. Although limited, my past experience with firefighters and EMTs hasn’t been favorable. I think too often authors aren’t able to find a good balance between the technical aspects of firefighting and the personal relationships they have. In this case, however, my past experience meant nothing. Jill Shalvis did a credible job of writing wonderfully flawed characters without bogging the story down with the technical aspects.
