There seems to be a theme with the covers for this series. To be honest, I don’t get it. At all. The guy looks like an actual person with a mask on and he’s holding on to a naked woman statue and…what? Is he going to get it on with the statue? Is that a real woman with her own statue like mask on?
Seriously, WTF?
This is definitely not real people! It’s a beautifully made renaissance sculpture by Bernini carved from marble. (Hard to believe, I know!) I can’t tell you WHY it’s on a romance cover, but yeah, it’s a stunning piece of art.
Aislinn nailed it – a very famous statue, Hades abducting Persephone. Odd choice for a romance cover!
