She Shops…She Scores!

I went back to the UBS in Canoga Park that Lori and Nikki and I hit last weekend (they were having a 1/2 price sale – 1/2 their usual price which is usually 1/2 off. I had a long list. I only found 2 of the books on my list – boo hoo. Did that stop me from buying? NO! And all this + 2 books for my daughter? $20.00! Here’s my haul:

I didn’t realize until I got home that they were all historical romances except the McCarty. Oh well…guess I had a hankering for them and didn’t even realize it! lol

  1. I want to make a trip out to my UBS one of these days. I keep thinking about it. I have books I'd like to take in and I have credit still. As long as I have credits I can get books for a quarter of the price. I remember when I first started going there, there was a tiny little section (maybe 10 books) of paranormal romances! Now, she has rows! It's neat to see how that genre has grown over the last few years.

  2. Most excellent! It goes thru Saturday, right? Cause I wanna try and get back out there.

I so wish I was book shoppong right now instead of going to a freakish wedding where I know very few people. But oh well. And did I tell you I left the house and forgot ALL my books for the weekend?! Thank god for the iphone. I bought a few on the drive up.

  3. Good haul, Tracy! I'm looking for At the Bride Hunt Ball too, it was recommended by a friend and I want to try it. 🙂

  4. To Seduce a Sinner is a great book. I Loved Jasper.

It seems ages since I read a historical. I've just been loaned one to take on holiday next week Simply Perfect so I'll look forward to that.

  5. Great haul, Tracy!

Oh, I'm excited that you're going to read that Hoyt! Sooo good. And, of course the Kleypas' are wonderful, too.

After Jenre's post about Wulfric (and Kati, too, has talked about her love for him) I've really got to get around to Slightly Dangerous one of these days.

    Your ubs sounds great!

  6. Anna – I'm looking forward to them!

Amy – We have a UBS that's local but they are only open M-F 10am to 5pm. For a working girl that's HIGHLY inconvenient. It's a 1/2 hour drive to this one but it's bigger and open on weekends! I have credit at the local one but I can't ever get there when they're open!

Lori – I hope to heaven you're taking pictures at this freakish wedding. After all the talk I definitely need a visual! lol I THINK the sale runs until next Saturday but I'm not positive.

Hilcia – It's a funny thing about The Bride Hunt Ball. I saw a rec on Julia Quinn's site and was looking at purchasing the ebook just this week. I hadn't actually bought it but then when I went to the UBS I didn't have it on my list and had almost forgotten about it. My oldest daughter just happened to point to the book at the UBS and said "didn't you read this one?" and I said no and then did a double take. I just gave her a big ole hug and told her she's a genius!! I mean, what are the chances? lol
I'd be more than happy to send the book to you after I'm done!

Jenre – I seem to be reading more historicals lately with contemps and paranormals stuck in there. And I'm hoping TSAS is as good as it sounds.

Renee – Yes, the Hoyt was on your rec so I'm totally holding you responsible! lol Just kidding, I'm sure it will be great.
I've read only 1 Balogh before and while it was good it didn't make me want to read more. But then I read Tumperkin's (fellow DIK Lady) post about Slightly Dangerous and it made me want to read it! Hope it's good too!

  7. I thought I commented already ^_^; I seem to be doing that a lot!

Anyway, great haul, Tracy 🙂 You did really good!!! and yeah, half of half price = very cheap! 🙂

I have to say, I'm surprised you didn't have the Lisa Kleypas historicals yet though 🙂 Enjoy them!!

Oh and that Kurland book, who's the H/H? James and Zach's sister?

Psst, Hilcia – if you want the Olivia Parker, I can send it to you 😛
